Fire is realistic enough. Remote control worked very well. box is sturdy enough metal. The lip around the edge that covers the seam could be a little bigger. It is a 1/2 inch. I had to shim the unit up a little to cover the top seam completely. Device was made in china so only time will tell how the heating element will hold up.
Overall nice unit for the money.

Although I have not begun to use this product yet, it will give a beautiful ambiance to the room. It has added a new dimension to the room.

Easy to install, looks great and is a great improvement over the old insert. Not a multicolor flame, but very nice effect from the embers and flames. Heat is reasonable but fan is louder than I expected. Still, very pleased with the value.

I haven't had a chance to test how it works because I have been waiting over three days to speak to a Tech Support person regarding a statement in the installation manual. I'm sure the manual is in error but a notice is listed in bold stating that this unit does not support single phase power and that two phase power is required or the warranty is void. Since two phase power has not been used in the US in a century, it has got to be a mistake, but since they made a warranty statement in bold, I want confirmation from the company that this is the case. Now trying to get simple info from Twin-Star International (the manufacturer) so far has been next to impossible. The call to the toll free number puts you in touch with an answering service in a foreign country who only takes your name and promises someone will call in 24 to 48 hours. They don't. When you call again you get apologies and promises of a call in 24 to 48 hours, but they will put a priority on it. No call. I found another number on the web and called and got a US person who again can only promise a call in 24 to 48 hours. There is no supervisor of anyone who might know something that they can put you in touch with. When I finally get the simple info I need I sure hope the unit works and is reliable. Check out the BBB on this company and despite their paid A+ rating you see 80 complaints about terrible customer service.

We haven't turned it on yet since we are building it into an area and will use brick to accent it but it was easy to set up so far and looks great. The ordering and delivery process was quick and easy and it arrived within days.

ad on home depot website is very misleading. read all information VERY slowly. thought i was getting the
spectrafire with 5 different color settings and 110 volt. got a 1 color flame and 220 volt. my mistake for not
making sure. product is good and works great.
