Answer:
The package instructions say to keep pets away until after it dries, which it does pretty quickly. But I don't recommend this product because it didn't get rid of ants for me.

According to the label - yes. I have dogs and a cat so I am always careful with this type of product. As with any product like this you should spray it when pets are not around and won't be around until it dries. Once it dries its safe for pets.

Hi, Joe. Sure, you can use Spectracide Bug Stop Home Barrier if you have a dog. Remove your pet from the treatment area while you're spraying and while the spray is drying. Once the spray has dried, your dog can re-enter the treatment area as usual.

You can transfer the chemical to a number of spray devices such as a universal spray bottle (be sure to label the bottle) or a pump style garden sprayer. I chose the later because my hand was getting tired of squeezing the sprayer.

DougH there is a very slight odor when the product is in the container, you are not getting a gallon of water however once the area is sprayed and dried there is no noticeable odor.
Spectracide is safe for your children but please allow enough time for the product to completely dry

The "Caution" label clearly states ....
"People and Pets should not be allowed in treated areas until the spray has dried." "Leaves no odor."
Since this is a water-based product, and you spray it on rather than pour it on, it should dry rather quickly [less than an hour].

Hi Doug. This is a no-odor, non-staining product (when you use it as directed on the label). Keep kids out of treated areas while you're spraying, but they can be in sprayed rooms again as usual as soon as the spray has dried completely.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 197 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst I've used This may have worked for others, but for me I only found it to work when sprayed directly on the pest. When sprayed as a barrier, it lasted only a couple of days. When sprayed the fumes can last hours and make you cough continually. I will go back to Ortho. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spectracide my choice for years! Have you found a specific named product and you stick with the product because it simply works and at a good price? We actually had a gallon delivered from Home Depot because we were running low. I was very pleased how well packaged the liquid was. I have brought gallon bottles home in my trunk only to find a awful mess due to leaking. I have been using Spectracide inside my house as well along the outside of my house for as long as I can remember. No odor, No residue! However I disagree with the "12 Month Control". Once a month especially in the Summer months Florida has allot of insect activity. We have 3 dogs and none of them are irritated by Spectracided but I usually spray in the evening when everyone's in bed. I spray along all of the baseboards, I open and spray closets and cupboard doors that do not contain dish wear, under dressers as well as other funiture.,I spray both front and back patios, the garage and all window sills inside and out. As I said we have 3 dogs that constantly are running in and out. We live in Florida and we are known for those big ugly palmetto bugs, roachs, ants and fleas, oh and we have scorpions....ewe! If we see a bug, it's a Dead Bug! Spectracide Works! March 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not Buy!!, waste of money. no stain, no Odor, because it no work, it does nothing, the worst bug spray ever. it's better if you spray water or spit on the bug. July 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stuff! I am a long time user of Spectracide products because of the brand quality. Bug Stop Home Barrier spray lives up to their standard. The spray is non-staining, water-based clear formula with no oily residue or odor. Can be used indoors and outdoors around the foundation. It kills ants, roaches, fleas, ticks, spiders, termites, and carpet beetles to name a few. It kills many other insects (see label for full list). My house is built on a 3 foot high foundation with vinyl siding. I spray this product completely around the underneath bottom edge of the siding every six months and can confirm that it kills and prevents insects from entering the house. I also spray around all exterior window and door frames and indoors around all my baseboards/floor edges every six months. I live in a rural area and with the insect population I have found that once per year is not adequate for insect control. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the tubing from the container to the spray nozzle is only 6" long and can be cumbersome when spraying because it is too short. It needs to be longer as seen on other competitive brands. Nonetheless, it is a great product! January 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Delighted, gratified & pleased The Bug Stop RTU Home Insect Control is the best defense against creepy and crawly things but many of the little boogers have developed a knack for finding their way into porches, garages, utility sheds and especially decks. July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by pesticide worked but container broke Spray handle broken as i was 1/4 through the bottle. Had to buy an empty spray bottle and teuse the pesticide that way. I would not buy again. June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money Does nothing to stop bugs from entering home. Followed deirections and sprayed inside all rooms and around perimeter of house. Reated application 2 weeks later. Bugs don't even die after crawling through spray. Wish I could get my money back. June 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't work for me I'm not sure how this product has 4 stars. I had to repeatedly spray the same bugs hanging out by my door to get them to die. It states "kill on contact". I think what actually killed some of the bugs was the pressure from the spray not necessarily the actual product. And I couldn't stand my nose afterwards. It's doesn't smell but it does irritate.
