Can this be used for roof leak?

Actually a Home Depot worker told me it works as good if not better than rubberized spray intended for roofs. Thicker and obviously cheaper as well. I'm just wondering if anybody has used this for roof.
Asked by: Linda
This product was wonderful me . Water was getting water behind my gutters causing facial board to rot I tried several ways to correct this problem after I used the pruning seal I had no more leaks. Thank you for such a great product

repair bark damage from weed eater mowers?

bark repair directions
Asked by: glenn
Hi Glenn, "Repair" is a funny word in many respects. This product is protective in nature. So what's the difference???? Your bark may never grow back, but the tree will be protected from disease associated with the lack of bark. Hope this helps. Last thing, when in doubt spray the Spectricide... :)

13 oz. Ready-to-Use Aerosol Pruning Seal Spray is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 171.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good stuff... I was looking for the old arborist tar based paint on product, and was directed to this instead. I was trimming quaking aspen and white-bark birch trees, and they are very susceptible to fungal infections if the limb scars aren't coated after pruning. I'm pretty skeptical. This stuff came out of the spray can in a concentrated stream that was easy to aim and provided good coverage. You didn't have to get right up to touch the tree to apply it as you would with the old stuff. Great when you're on a ladder or climbing, just shoot it, and you're done. Easy cleanup, but you must remember to clear out the nozzle of the can!

I have used this product in the past to seal a large bare spot on the bark of our Aspen tree where the dear have been rubbing their antlers. Unfortunately they have come back again this year and started to rub off the bark on our juniper bushes. I gave the bush several "blasts" of this pruning sealer and it not only seals the trees and bushes, but it discourages the dear from using those trees and bushes as scratching posts. It can get on your hands when spraying it on (its quite sticky), so I recommend wearing latex gloves when applying it.

The product comes out of the can faster than I expected and covered a larger area than I wanted covered. I just wanted to cover an area of a Japanese Maple that had lost its bark but when I pushed lightly on the nozzle it covered more than the area. The product dried before I could wipe it off the over-sprayed area. The next time I will tape some newspaper around the area I intend to covered to prevent the over spray. On the plus side, the seal dries quickly and seem durable.

Unfortunately it did not.....the product appears wonderful, however the aerosol can was damaged. I did not notice the damage when I purchased the product. There were several deep gouges in the side of the can and also a malfunctioning spray nozzle. When I depressed the nozzle, the paint sprayed everywhere including me. I am returning this damaged can for a new can...thanks!

The product was a MESS...absolutely...after you would stop spraying for a second, the seal would ooze out of the nozzle and not stop, and the can became a mess, I became a mess. and I threw the can in the garbage. I will never buy this again, nor will I recommend it..

I've used this pruning seal spray over the years; it's also used by professional tree service companies. One improvement I and they would like to see is a design upgrade to the cheap and tiny little spray nozzle in the same way Dow has done with its 'foaming bubbles' spray cleaner... The problems with the tiny nozzle are: (1) it has a significant amount of dribbling which gets the tar-like substance all over your fingers if you don't wear THIN vinyl or latex gloves (which I have learned to do; but changing from heavy working gloves to the thin gloves in the field is a P.I.T.A.); and (2) the tiny nozzle can be easily knocked off and lost. Other than that, this product serves to keep insects and woodpeckers away from the open wood surfaces after tree limbs are removed. Finally, if you're not going to use all the spray within a short time, be sure to follow the directions about 'clearing the nozzle' by holding the can upside down while spraying for a second or two so the hardened substance doesn't clog the nozzle before the can is emptied.

The only draw back is it did get on me and it is difficult to get off, which in it's own way is a testament that it sticks great to the tree. I have used the brush on before and this takes less time.
