Based on my experience with the 1 can I bought, it doesn't even come close to shooting 27 feet and it's more of a wide spray than a stream.

This brand won't reach 7 feet spraying straight. It doesn't kill wasp either unless you soak them with 1/3 can if they ever hit the ground.

Answer:
Definitely not. The can I bought barely sprayed 7ft horizontally before falling 5ft. At 7ft it was mostly a mist anyways. When I used the spray, the air was still, no breeze what so ever. The 27ft is a lie. A complete and utter lie. However, it sure did kill an entire hornet's nest. Read my review for details.

Answer:
Based on my experience it will only reach 7ft horizontally before falling 5ft. My can sprayed MAYBE 7 foot horizontally before dropping 5 ft. In other words, I held the can straight out from my body and sprayed it horizontally. The height of the can was approx 5 ft from the ground. Within 7 foot of horizontal travel, the spray hit the ground and was mostly diffused into a mist by that time anyways.

This brand won't kill much of anything. Buy Raid. It will not kill them all in one use. It will leave a ring of dead grass around the hole after multiple uses. Again, this brand will not work.

The standard formula won't kill your lawn, but we do recommend an alternative product for your specific problem. Spectracide Carpenter Bee & Ground Nesting Yellow Jacket Killer uses a foaming formula to expand where yellow jackets live to kill the whole nest. If you have a nest very close to pool, I would make sure to spray opposite direction of the pool water to keep spray out of the water. (make sure its not windy out) And do it either when adult wasp/hornets are gone from nest (also destroy nest if you can before adults return to it). But if adults on the nest, wait till sundown as they are slightly slower to attack. Wear proper protection: At minimal plastic gloves/eye goggles, loose fitted clothing, even better a bee suit with eye protection and gloves if you are allergic like me. Good Luck. Read Less

This spray doesn't work. Use raid for direct killing. Buy the wasp, yellow jacket traps sold by Home Depot for keeping an area free of wasps and other stingers. Refills are sold at Home Depot as well and should be replaced every 2 weeks.

I wouldn't recommend it. Read the MSDS of the ingredients and you'll know for sure. The can clearly states to avoid skin/eye contact and using basic logic I'd say that spraying above a body of water will mean the water will become contaminated.

No idea, however, there is a different product that states it is ok to use on electrical components. This product didn't state it was safe to do so, so I'd be safe and assume it is not safe.

Hi Don. This particular product is not electrically non-conducting, so you shouldn't use it around electrical equipment. We sell another formula at Home Depot -- SpectracidePRO Wasp & Hornet Killer -- that is non-conductive up to 47,300 volts, so it can be used around outdoor electrical equipment up to that voltage. You can find it here: Read More

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not at ALL what I expected.. Be careful! You have to be very careful thinking that these evil creatures will die upon contact with the product. They WILL NOT… As the product dried, they all flew right back and kept on eating and flying around… I never saw one wasp on the ground where I had sprayed…Be ready to RUN like Forrest Gump because they will try to dive bomb your face in an instant! Ill definitely spend a little more and buy the other brands. Funny thing.. I had 1 left of the other brand BUT thought this might do the trick too… Nope.. I was highly mistaken! Bee Careful!!! lol August 11, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 50/50 killed or alive This was a dissapointment because many of the wasp weren't killed. Some cases it worked but it was hit or miss and i got stung 2 times because of this poor product. When sprayed this covered the wasp like a foam. I've used other products that when sprayed the wasp died upon contact but not this product. July 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DISAPPOINTED I bought this spray because it is specifically for wasps and hornets and because it claims to spray a long stream thereby making it a little safer to spray a nest from a distance. However, this can does not spray a stream anywhere close to 27 ft. This product sprays messy foam wide and close and gets all over the arm this is spraying. A can of hair spray works better than this aerosol spray. I do not recommend this product at all. I have since found that the safest way to spray into a wasp nest is to use a hand pump sprayer with a long nozzle and fill the sprayer with a liquid insecticide. August 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not work at all Bought this and spray at the nest at night first can reach the 18ft but the 2nd can didnt work at all. Next day came it still a lot of traffic in and out of nest. Did not worked for me. August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by False advertising Doesn't spray past 10' and this spray does not kill the wasps or nest. They all fly off and then hang around the area until the poison dries. August 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SAVE YOUR MONEY ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!! After throughly dousing a wasp nest, 2 fell on the deck and flew off. ALL the others stayed on the nest like nothing had happened. Go buy some starting fluid. It kills them INSTANTLY. THIS IS GOING IN THE TRASH!!! August 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by "Kills wasps and hornets on contact" - NOT! One of the first features needed when spraying a wasp nest is that it actually kill them! - preferably before they get to you as you are spraying their nest! This doesn't even slow them down- all it does is make them angry and want to attack the offender! - another junk product from Spectracide. August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sprays far but not always fatal on the first blow The biggest "pro" is that it can spray a very long stream, which means you can easily get wasps nests that are as high up as a second story or that you can stand at quite a safe distance from a nest at normal height. (No other brands I have used could put out such a long stream). The biggest "con" is that the spray does not kill wasps instantly; sometimes it does not kill them at all unless they get thoroughly soaked on the first hit. (I almost got stung by a wasp that got sprayed but was able to fly out of the nest before I could thoroughly soak it). If you are spraying a small nest with few wasps, it should be fine; however, I am a little afraid to try it on a large nest. The rating of three stars is because it depends on what you need the spray to achieve. July 7, 2016
