Customer Questions & Answers

Will the spray reach 27 ft if you are spraying at a 90 degree angle, almost straight up? Thank you.

That is my only questions
Asked by: BBQBOY
Nowhere near that far. Expect it to fall back on you if spraying up.

I have a new lawn and have yellow jackts invading it. If I spray with wasp killer, will it kill my lawn where I spray?

Asked by: Muffie
You need to watch where they are coming out of the lawn and look for a small ( couple inches) cleared spot with a nice round hole the size of your index finger that is the entrance to their nest. There will be constant activity there. Spectracide ( surprise - this one actually works!) makes a Carpenter Bee - Ground Nesting Wasp foaming spray that actually does what it says it does! Wait until a cool, dark evening when the activity has slowed down and follow the instructions - including filling in the hole after a day or so. It has a residual effect that will kill any returning wasps as well.

can this be used over a swimming pool to keep wasps away?

Asked by: Ofelia
I would spray around the pool not in it and then yes it will work.

can this wasp spray be used on energized electrical circuits

Asked by: Anonymous
No idea, however, there is a different product that states it is ok to use on electrical components. This product didn't state it was safe to do so, so I'd be safe and assume it is not safe.

20 oz. Wasp and Hornet Aerosol Spray Killer is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 157.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wasp Weapon? This year a wide variety of wasps and hornets were determined to build nests on my front porch. I needed an insecticide that would kill the bugs without putting me in harms way. Spectracide Wasp and Hornet Killer did the trick for me, but it did not kill all the insects on contact. It did, however, spray out far enough so that I could target the nests without having to be too close. I had to apply the spray two days in a row in order to completely eliminate the problem. I am satisfied with the outcome, but I am not sure that this product is better than any other insecticide spray.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the required job The wasp spray did the required job. The wasps were immediately unable to fly and their death seemed to take just a minute. I did wait the required 24 hours before removing the nest per the directions and noted that the wasps returning to the nest had also died. The only thing that I found dissapointing was the distance of the spray. Some other products have a longer spray distance. It required me to use a ladder to reach the higher nest positions which could have been dangerous if the spray did not immediately work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't do much killing Either I have superbees in my yard, or this stuff is not strong enough. I swear they are laughing at me when I spray them with this stuff, Maybe a few buzz around irritated a bit, but haven't seen any dead ones. Nest is still there, just as much worker bee to and fro as before I drenched the whole area several times. I guess it's probably safe for the environment - about as harmful as foamy water.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for yellow jackets This spray worked on wasps after spraying the nest twice, but never did kill a yellow jacket after multiple sprays. Might be I bought the wrong spray, but I won't try it again. It was very handy being delivered to my house, saving me a hour drive time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow this stuff knocks em dead Had two large hornets nests above my garage door needed something to kill them fast. This stuff nearly instakills them, and those still alive die shortly after. No chance of them attacking you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wasp & Hornet Killer Every season there are wasp or hornet nests built in the most unusual places on the exterior of my home. Normally there is one at the corner of the front entrance that could get the insects stirred up each time the door is opened. I can use the Spectracide Wasp and Hornet Killer with up to 27 ft. jet spray so I don’t have to be in danger of a sting while eliminating the nests. The wasp or hornets are killed on contact so I can get rid of the nest and not have to worry about getting stung each time I open the door. The spray leaves no stains when it is applied so there is no cleanup afterwards.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute failure My wife purchased this yesterday at HD. Nice spray, foam covers nest and wasps. Cons: we sprayed several nests on our property and noticed many wasps were able to fly away after being covered with spray. We came back later only to find all the nests covered in wasps again so we sprayed again. Some wasp do die slowly but most do not. Came back again next day and every nest still had wasps so I sprayed one last time, then physically had to knock the nest down with wasps still flying around. We emptied the full can on about 5 nests and never killed all the wasps. I have used wasp sprays all my life and have never seen such dismal performance, will never buy this again and sadly, now I'm leary of any Spectracide products.
