Does this kill odorous house ants??

We can't get rid of the odorous house ants we have and are trying to find something will kill those in particular. We get them every summer and usually pay an exterminating company to spray, but wanted to try saving some money this summer and do it ourselves. They're the small black ants that have a poison-like smell to them when crushed. My grandfather always called them "p*ss ants" when we were growing up, because they have an ammonia smell to them when killed (like cat urine almost). After hiring an exterminator, we found out they were called Odorous House Ants, and are very hard to get rid of. Even the exterminators had problems getting rid of them, so we switched to a different company that charged us $400 to do an extensive "fog" outside around the house to get rid of them, which worked great and we were ant free last year. However, they're back, and with all the rain we're having, it's running them inside the house. All my neighbors are having issues as well. I'm hoping this will work and save us at lease $300 this summer. I've got a big problem with slugs in my yard as well, so I'll be on the hunt next for something that will kill those too.

Between the bricks in the driveway I sprayed and soaked the small dirt mounds from the ants building nests between the bricks and under them. I day or two later I went out to check and half of the ants had reformed the mounds of dirt over their homes. I then put a few drops of Terro ant killer onto the dirt right by the hole to their homes and that did the trick to kill the ants. I sprayed Ant Shied directly onto some ants walking around and the ants kept walking. It might kill ants but is slow to do so and does not get the entire colony.

I have tried the granules , and they stay where you put them , not down in the mound , as the label states. I have wasted my last dollar on granules. With this you break up the mound , and stir and spray. Result, dead ants that you can see. Just be sure not to get too close , when you spray , but you will get most of the ants. Use the consentrated spray , and shoot down the holes. You will see the results with a pile of ants.

The hose that connects to the sprayer is about 4 inches long. Not long enough to actually spray an area without putting the bottle on the ground or really without tipping it somewhat forward to reach. When you tip the product spills for the bottle opening. Just a mess -- if the hose was longer totally different story; although the product should not spill (pour) out of top if tipped slightly.

Had loads of tiny sweet ants in every crack they could find in my driveway. Applied the spray and the ants showed no activity where I sprayed, but new mounds seem to pop up in the untreated areas. The product is supposed to keep them away for several days, since purchase was only a short time ago, not sure about that part will update later.

I was remodeling a deck this week, and found a nest of carpenter ants against the house. Went to HD and grabbed a gallon of Ant Shield, treated the area and around the entire structure. Easy to use dispenser, seems very effectively.

Didn't notice when first purchased that the sprayer was missing from the product. Product is useless unless you already have a separate sprayer and are willing to handle an insecticide with mask and gloves.
