Is it lockable

Asked by: VINCE
There is a closing mechanism using a magnet but it's certainly wouldn't pass for a lock. I believe that you could possibly find a way to install a lightweight lock (like for a screen door) but it would take some doing. I use a little bracket that swings up and catches the handle when I'm going to be gone for a day or two to keep my curious cat out. I doubt that would work for a child.

Is the white mist less shiny than the white?

The White Mist and it has a wood grain type look that is kind of classy looking. I think you will like that.

I purchased 3 of the Spectrum accordian doors for closets, one oak, one misty white, and one white. The oak and the misty white have a wood-look grain to them and they look very nice in the closet openings. The white vinyl one has no wood grain to it and is just plain glossy white. It is ugly and cheap looking. Unfortunately I didn't notice that the white was just plain vinyl. I would take it back but I had already cut the bottom off and the rail shorter to fit the opening I have. The others do not look cheap and I am very pleased with them and how easy they were to install.

We got these to cut off access from our cats to the dining room while we're in the process of selecting alternate doors. They had a higher grade version for about double the price but these were adequate. They're not super sturdy and they tend to feel a little flimsy but they serve the purpose we bought them for. For under $100.00 (for 3 panels), we were able to put up a temporary solution that will likely hold us over for at least the next few months to a year. I'd recommend them for what we intended them for. If you want a sturdier one, spend the money and get the upgraded version.

Bought this door to separate a utility room from our downstairs apartment bedroom. Super inexpensive, and easy to assemble. I had to saw off the bottom to fit my doorway - did it in two phases to be sure I didn't cut off too much. The first time I left it folded and used a hacksaw, which was effective. The second time I used a pair of good strong scissors which worked until the very end, where I used the hacksaw again for the plastic edge piece. Definitely somewhat flimsy - it flexes/warps a fair amount when pulling it away from the magnetized close. With careful handling it should last a few years but I expect to have to replace this within 5 years. Still, good value for money and does the job well.

What I don't like about it, is that it is a little to flimsy. I should have spent more to get a more sturdy one. But this will do for the time being. I have only had it up for approximately two weeks.
