Think Safety when using a Portable Generator and High Voltage (110Volts or 220Volts). Use of a Ground Rod that is Properly installed or a Ground Wire ran to a Ground System will take care of this.
Bottom Line: Use the Ground Terminal or Post if it has one. Use a Three Prong Cord Whenever Possible. Likely, it will have one as most around this Wattage do.

Not required with this unit. Internal hot/com/ground, three-wire receptacle. Just be sure to use a heavy-duty 15 or 20 amp three-wire power cord and plug.

As this Generator is Fuel Powered...Do Not Use It Indoors !
As a General Rule:
NEVER USE A GASOLINE or ANY OTHER FUEL POWERED GENERATOR INDOORS !!! ALL FUEL POWERED GENERATORS REQUIRE ADEQUATE VENTILATION.
This Cannot be attained Indoors...Do Not Try it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The risk can be very sickening at an absolute minimum or Fatal to ALL indoors! REPEAT Do Not Try it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good little machine Good little box. Lightweight and efficient. Other models have a 12v/5a outlet in addition to the 120v/7.5a outlet. Was a little hard to start at first. I was worried I'd need to play with the carb, but just pushed the throttle a couple times and it jumped right to life. Only ran it for 15-20 minutes. Put various loads on it - 10-75 watt. Hummed along just fine. It is a bit loud, but not obnoxiously so. I wouldn't use at a quiet campground, but a fair, tailgating, etc. it's perfect. August 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap not worth it either This appears to be a fine product. It only runs for a few minutes however, and the service center in the mid-west is 4 stroke only, so basically it is not viable. It was cheap so once again, you get what you pay for. I did not pay enough ... August 23, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leaks out lots of blue stuff Only used a few times and leaves a puddle of blue after every use! Need to return this and go back to the storm cat which usually last about a year. November 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by generator works good only a few cons, hard to start after it sits for few days October 13, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DUD Generator worked ok the first couple of times I used it. However generator started to give me trouble. 1. Generator would shut off for no reason, 2. Engine started knocking. 3. Choke not marked correctly, when opened, it is actually closed., Once I figured this out it was easy to start generator. Took it back to HD for a refund. August 27, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This is totally useless don't buy it I got this generator to provide some power to my battery bank I have 2 10 amp battery chargers which comes to 240 W. The generator is rated up to 1000W. I get it turning over let it run for a full minute before plunging anything in. Plug in my chargers and 10 minutes later it stalls out. If I restart it it will run for 2 minutes and stall again. Save your money buy something else August 4, 2015
