CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 117 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good little generator for camping We bought this for camping where there are no electric hookups. The very first trip we started the generator and it loped and smoked and ran about 30 minutes then died and wouldn't start back. We were very upset and took it back to home depot. Turns out the spark plug was broken. The man at the store was very nice and helpful. He replaced the spark plug and cleaned out the carburetor. Also told us to shut the gas off and then run it till it dies when we get ready to put it away. When we got home we fired it up, plugged in the refrigerator, a fan, some lights and our battery chargers. It ran fine without missing a beat. Was relatively quiet. From being very disappointed, we went to very pleased. May 23, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by won't power 12A recip saw, mitre saw etc It cut out, just as soon as I put a 12A (typical Dewalt recip saw or mitre saw) to wood. It did this consistently. Home Depot reveiw states "powering tools in the work shed", but this is not the case. Called customer support and they told me that it won't handle power saws. These continuous run generators use quite a bit of fuel, much more than you'd expect. Positives: It did work fine powering a small refrig and a couple of lights. It starts right up. The customer service is helpful. It's quiet and easy to carry. September 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by limited features used this little generator for the last 6 months in the dead of winter. Item was housed in the woods and performed good for the cold. was able to get 12 hours run time off one tank of fuel when i filled it above recommendations. One draw back i don't like is the overhead valve cover is connected to the air breather with a hose; this cause the engine to loose oil after the oil becomes hot and deteriorated and inturn, you will have to add oil every 12 to 24 hr run. Manual recommends changing oil after every 20 hrs of use, so maintenance is required after every use. Other wise than that, it performed to my expectations. Ran quiter than expected. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for a small Generator Good to use if you just need to run a few lights or something small June 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value...performs well considering it's size I originally bought this unit to power my pellet stove during brief winter outages (pellet stove uses approx. 120 watts).  I wound up powering much of my house electrics for 4 days straight during hurricane Irene, and for nearly 7 days after the snowstorm that wrecked the northeast in late Oct 2011.  I ran my sump pump, pellet stove, deep freezer, lights, radio, a small TV/DVD player, the DVR and various battery chargers.  Individually I was also able to run a wet/dry vac, coffee maker, iron, and electric griddle.  The unit ran continuously, I only stopped it to add a little oil every 48 hrs.  It is very fuel efficient, using about 4 gal of gas in a 24 hour period.  I would caution those who use for fine electronics, the generator's power is dirty, some electronics don't like it.  It is best suited for lights and motorized appliances.  I didn't ruin any of my electronics, so I really can't complain.  I would highly recommend purchasing something like this for emergency.  I couldn't believe how many neighbors did not have anything. With the cold weather, their homes quickly plunged to 45 degrees.  This unit seems reliable to me, it has 260+ hrs. of run time with no problems. December 29, 2011
