We bought this for camping where there are no electric hookups. The very first trip we started the generator and it loped and smoked and ran about 30 minutes then died and wouldn't start back. We were very upset and took it back to home depot. Turns out the spark plug was broken. The man at the store was very nice and helpful. He replaced the spark plug and cleaned out the carburetor. Also told us to shut the gas off and then run it till it dies when we get ready to put it away. When we got home we fired it up, plugged in the refrigerator, a fan, some lights and our battery chargers. It ran fine without missing a beat. Was relatively quiet. From being very disappointed, we went to very pleased.

used this little generator for the last 6 months in the dead of winter. Item was housed in the woods and performed good for the cold. was able to get 12 hours run time off one tank of fuel when i filled it above recommendations. One draw back i don't like is the overhead valve cover is connected to the air breather with a hose; this cause the engine to loose oil after the oil becomes hot and deteriorated and inturn, you will have to add oil every 12 to 24 hr run. Manual recommends changing oil after every 20 hrs of use, so maintenance is required after every use. Other wise than that, it performed to my expectations. Ran quiter than expected.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by TonyG Great value...performs well considering it's size
I originally bought this unit to power my pellet stove during brief winter outages (pellet stove uses approx. 120 watts). Â I wound up powering much of my house electrics for 4 days straight during hurricane Irene, and for nearly 7 days after the snowstorm that wrecked the northeast in late Oct 2011. Â I ran my sump pump, pellet stove, deep freezer, lights, radio, a small TV/DVD player, the DVR and various battery chargers. Â Individually I was also able to run a wet/dry vac, coffee maker, iron, and electric griddle. Â The unit ran continuously, I only stopped it to add a little oil every 48 hrs. Â It is very fuel efficient, using about 4 gal of gas in a 24 hour period. Â I would caution those who use for fine electronics, the generator's power is dirty, some electronics don't like it. Â It is best suited for lights and motorized appliances. Â I didn't ruin any of my electronics, so I really can't complain. Â I would highly recommend purchasing something like this for emergency. Â I couldn't believe how many neighbors did not have anything. With the cold weather, their homes quickly plunged to 45 degrees. Â This unit seems reliable to me, it has 260+ hrs. of run time with no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jimmy Fast Delivery and worked great, great value
I wanted to buy a generator for the approaching hurricane and all the local stores were sold out. I ordered this on-line Tuesday night around 8pm and it arrived Friday morning prior to the hurricane which hit Saturday. This was freee shipping also - basically 2 business day delivery - excellent. This little guy is light, easy to handle and straight forward operation. I powered a full size refrigerator, 5 cu ft freezer, 19" TV, a fan and a couple of lights. This is all you really need to get by and the load totaled around 1000 watts so I still had room for more. Got me thru until the power came back on.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Praktis This little generator is great for basic camping needs. Do not expect to run a whole household off of it.
I bought this to little generator run a dirty water pump for our homemade recirculating gold sluice. I had no problem starting it right up and it runs smoothly. Do not expect this to run a lot of appliances but it is great for my purpose or if you want to hook up a portable TV, lights and/or charging cell phones/lap tops. It started right up the first time and every time since. It didn't seem to be very loud at home but once you are in the quiet mountains it seems to be louder. It's all perspective.
