I was hopeful this was better than other paint sprayer systems I've used in the past, but I was disappointed in its performance. The kit comes with a handy mixing gauge. After thinning my water based paint to the correct consistency, I loaded up the sprayer and gave it a shot. I found that the pattern was not very smooth, the overspray was unmanageable and the required paint thickness was so thin that it dripped really bad.
A practical application for this gun would be painting a large wall space. You'll need to not only tape, but completely cover up anything you don't want painted. This includes the ceiling. Wear painters coveralls, gloves and face protection (unless you don't care if you get covered in paint). I switched back to a roller for my project. It was easier, faster and less messy than using the paint gun.

I've always thought paint sprayers were too much of a hassle but this Earlex Spray Station will definitely get plenty of use. I gave it a test run in my utility room. My entire home has a heavy Monterrey drag texture. It takes a thick roller and a number of coats to get full coverage. This spray station uses far less paint and achieves superior results. Not only is less paint used but the paint dries quickly. The professional finish is the best part. I did not have an issue diluting the paint but I used a spare paint can so I could dilute an entire gallon at once. The only negative for me was the noise the sprayer makes. It's very loud which is not a problem for me but I often get started on projects while the wife and kids are still sleeping. Overall this sprayer is easy to use and a major time and money saver.

This paint sprayer is amongst the easiest I've used. This sprayer comes with everything you need to get the job done. The design and construction work together to provide easy control of the spray allowing the user to spray with precision. This sprayer doesn't have much over spray making it great for any project. I used it to paint interior walls, just had to thin paint a little. The users ability to control the spray is awesome. The ability to change out the needle for different applications makes this sprayer very versatile. When it comes to cleaning, this sprayer is a piece of cake.

This little device is by no means a pro sprayer, but since I'm DIYer it's a good fit.
I used it to spray some interior door and after I figured out the best paint thinning ratio it worked well. The device comes with a How-To DVD and a little cup-thingy to measure the viscosity of the paint, this helps a lot.
The sprap pattern is good and the overspray not too bad.
The cord could be longer and the compressor is a little noisy.
Again, I wouldn't recommend it for a Pro but for DIY it's a good device.

This sprayer really does a good job and lays down a nice smooth finish that equals much more expensive models. It atomizes paint well and produces a nice furniture or cabinet quality finish. I am very impressed at the small amount of overspray it produces.
The sprayer comes with good clear instructions and a DVD on using the sprayer and included viscosity cup for proper thinning. If you follow the directions you will get great results. In the attached video I thinned acrylic paint to about 40 seconds and was able to produce a nice finish on my first try.
Clean up is easy. I do go a step further and remove the nozzle and needle to make sure there is nothing left on them.
What's nice is that you don't have to be a professional painter to get great results. If you are a serious DIY'r and want a nice sprayer that doesn't break the bank the Earlex 1900 is for you.

This sprayer will get the job done well, just don't forget to thin your paint properly or you'll have a poor experience. I prefer airless sprayers, especially for latext paint, but this is a nice HVLP alternative. The filter, as mentioned in some other reviews, is not removable, so it's not easy to clean. Earlex should update this sprayer with a removable filter for better longevity of the unit.

I've been wanting to change the color of my lamp shades, lights, wicker baskets, as well as varnish a couple of end tables but I have avoided these projects because I cannot hold down a spray can button for very long and the spray never goes onto surfaces evenly. With this spray station paint sprayer, I am painting everything that I wanted to redo and then some. This unit is easy for me to handle and guide. There is not a lot of over spray but I still put my objects above enough plastic sheeting to catch it all. After experimenting with a few lamp shades that I didn't care if I kept or not, I found out that if I diluted the water based paint by 1/3 and painted 3 coats it ended up looking much better than if I had painted full strength using one coat. The drying time was quicker too. When using enamel paint, I thinned it about the same 1/3 and got amazing results. I cannot believe the look of some of the plastic items I have repainted. No one would know that these were ever painted. I did try the 1.5 mm needle with the polyurethane on my end table on the last of 4 coats and I thinned it 50 percent. This unit holds more than enough product for my projects and clean up was a breeze. I will never buy another can of spray paint again!
