My only qualms about this shower filter have to do with its being rather thin plastic and perhaps cracking after a while. Our last one did, although it gave us years of service. (This one does have a metal hose, which is a good length.) Otherwise, we're very pleased. It's easier to change from one shower type to another than on some shower nozzles, no twisting a slippery disc. And a good amount of forcefulness to rinse one's hair.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TCons05 This product is a great shower water filter.
I had owned a similar shower head from Sprite for the last nine years. Home Depot is one of the few places stocking a comparable model from the same manufacturer, so I ordered that one. The design is ingenious, in that the filter sits within the arm of the shower attachment, which gives the unit a slim and streamlined design that is attractive and also makes for easy cleaning. It installs easily onto most standard wall mounted shower arms. The filter works effectively to minimize all chlorine particles, with minimal "drag" on flow, and is easily replaced. The difference in water quality is immediately apparent, and lasts for almost the entire life of the average filter. The five setting variations in the shower head provide a good array of sprays. The chrome finish looks smart in almost any decor. If this shower head is as durable as the previous one from Sprite, I'll be a dedicated customer for as long as the company persists.

I ordered this product first from Amazon, but I noticed the photos of the various Sprite products didn't always line up with the reviews or descriptions. I'd read that the plastic hose smells really badly, so I ordered the more expensive chrome hose (according to the photo and description), but a white one arrived, smelly as reported. When I returned it and ordered from Home Depot instead, I got exactly what I ordered: no fuss, no trouble, and at a good price! I like the product very much.
Comparison: Aquasana reportedly gets a few more items out of the water for you, but it had squirty leaks in several places within months of owning it, and for the price difference, we've decided to try Sprite this time. We'll just have to mess with the filter more often (Every month you have to reverse the filter to rinse it out, and get a new one every 3rd month), whereas with Aquasana you just had to change the filter out once a year. In other Sprite reviews I've read that the plastic C ring that holds the showerhead can break, but one reviewer said you can pick up another one from Home Depot, so I may pick one up to have it on hand in case that happens. So far, our new Sprite Filtered Showerhead has been wonderful.

We got the shower head a few months ago when we were looking at water filters. It has good preasure and helps with hard water issues we have. The problem that we have is the angle of the shower head makes is spray sideways instead of down and the shower head will not adjust down enough for a stand up shower, in a tub it would be fine. The holder ring and connector has cracked causing the entire head to fall off. If they had a shorter head or a better angle on it this product would be great.

having well water often it is hard to rinse the shampoo from my hair. With the filter, hair feels cleaner. Still some residue, however improved!
