Answer:
Square D makes a dual function AFCI/GFCI breaker, but unless you are on the 2014 NEC all you need is GFCI proctection. GFCI protection can be provided with either a GFCI receptacle or GFCI circuit breaker.

Answer:
No, Square D circuit breakers are only UL Listed to be used in Square D panels and loadcenters. Eaton/Cutler-Hammer makes CAFCI circuit breakers in both the CH and BR product lines. You need the BR series.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reasonably Priced I'm not really thrilled that these Homeline AFCI's extend over and cover up the neutral bar when installed, but the combination of the Homeline panel and breakers made for the best value. Otherwise, they work as they should, and the brand is certainly one that you can trust. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well-built, affordable arc protection Square D HOM CAFCI breakers are a good value, well-built, easy-to-install, and work as advertised. Added them to a bedroom circuit with no problems. Has been installed about two weeks. Make sure the main breaker is off. Do pay close attention to the install instructions and be sure to install a matching black/white wire pair to the breaker. Do not wire or leave the load's white neutral wire on the panel neutral bar. Breaker's white, coiled, wire goes to the neutral bar. Breaker is easy to test for normal function by installing it without any wires and then pressing the test button. It should trip without a load. If it works properly, but trips with a load, the load has an arc, neutral/ground touching, etc. It is longer than a regular breaker so make sure you have room in the panel for the "overhang".
