Customer Questions & Answers

Circuit breaker did not trip on overrload, should it be replaced?

Asked by: Brian
How do you know the breaker was overloaded? How did you measure the overload and how much was it overloaded and for how long? This breaker will not trip immediately when slightly overloaded, but may take up to a minute or so to trip. A severe overload would trip right away. If in doubt, replace the breaker.

What is the difference between HOM220 and HOM220CP

The codes are a bit different DW-7176 and DP-4075 - they both seem to be the same specs. Not sure what the heck is different. According to Schneider CP means "bulk label" or something. So are they the same, but one is sold in bulk, the other sold individually? Help!
Asked by: Brian
Thank you for your inquiry. The HOM220CP is the same as the HOM220 breaker. The CP is for Consumer Product, which are available at the Retail Stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my 240 volt Air Compressor Snapped right into my Square D residential power panel and tested OK. I've now have 220 power in the garage to run my 6.5 HP Twin-V air compressor. I attempted to use a Square D Quad Tandem in the same and only available location which did not fit. I learned from reading another review here that the lugs are designed to reject to many circuits within the panel. Exchanged that one for this with no problem.
