will this breaker accept a lockout device?

Asked by: signsteve
Square D has a QO series circuit breaker lock accessory that will fit this circuit breaker. The breaker lock will either keep the breaker from being turned off or from being turned on, depending on how it is installed. This locking accessory can be found in the Square D Digest.

Will this work with a Sylvania breaker box? Thanks

Asked by: Catherine9055
No, the Square D QO series circuit breaker will definitely not fit any Sylvania panel and is only UL Listed for use in Square D QO series panels. There were two separate and distinctly different Sylvania loadcenters and the breakers for each are not interchangeable. One style later became the Challenger loadcenter and the correct UL Listed replacement breaker is the Eaton/Cutler-Hammer BR series breaker. The other style was the Zinsco style and the only replacement breakers still manufactured are from UBI and marketed under the Connecticut Electric name. These replacement breakers from Connecticut Electric will only fit Zinsco or Zinsco style Sylvania loadcenters, are pretty expensive and are not UL Listed. You should probably remove a breaker as a sample and take it to your local Home Depot so they can match it to the correct replacement.

Will this product work properly in a 12 volt DC APPLICATION? I have a DC battery Bank and I'd like protect a 20A dc pump

DC application
Asked by: Gtg
Square D QO loadcenters are not approved for DC applications and a QO circuit breaker would have to be installed in a QO loadcenter. A better solution would be to protect a 12 volt DC circuit with a fuse.
