Questions & Answers

Is this the correct breaker to run my dryer off of

Asked by: jimmy
Hello Jimmy, Typically a clothes dryer will run off of a 30A circuit breaker. You would need to double check with your dryer manufacture. A QO breaker also only works with QO load centers. Regards, Customer Care Center

My mitsubishi minisplit system is asking for a 15amp 240V gfi breaker. I'm going between this and a CAFI breaker (QO215CAFIC). Will they both work and does either have an advantage? I see some two pole breakers that say 120V instead of 240V is that a typo or are the saying each pole is 120V? either way it's odd that one will say 120 and the other 240. Why are they never carried in store if they are asked for by AC mfgs.?
Asked by: wetbarefootnovice
Hello, Each pole is 120V. If you use the QO215GFI for 240V it will work. Regards, Customer Care Center

Does this breaker have the self testing of the GFCI protection that is currently common on the GFCI receptacles? Or is periodic testing the primary method to confirm the GFCI function?
Asked by: AC
Hello, The GFCI breaker has a push to test button. It should be tested monthly. Regards, Customer Care Center

Initially wired incorrectly, it tripped the GFCI and caused the electrician to investigate more closely the manner he wired it and corrected his mistake (load neutral was tied to the bus bar rather than the breaker as required). Once the wiring was rectified, it worked nicely.
