Purchased an "8-9" foot Fraser from HD along with St. Nick's Choice... let me first start by commenting on the design... we nice, easy to use, self-explanatory... however! I HIGHLY do NOT recommend using this stand if your tree is dense and heavy and.... over 8 feet tall. Prior to setting the tree up, the directions state to tapper the tree bottom if the trunk is oversized to fit into the base vessel- I should have STOPPED right there and returned the dam thing! So I listened to my wife and continued... got it screwed in and inserted the vessel into the base platform. Looked good, but..... it wasn't straight. So I used the tilt - leveling mechanism to get it close to upright.... LOOKS GREAT FINALLY!! Sometime around 3 a.m. in to the next morning, I woke up to a large crashing sound.... Gee, thanks St. Nick!! So, in conclusion, I would only recommend this product for trees under 8 feet and NOT heavy weighted... Hope this helps! Notice our tree leaning next to the 8 foot bulk head??? It stands 9 feet from tip to trunk when correctly erected...

I've used one of these for over 15 years and love it. Being able to get just the right tilt to accommodate a crooked tree trunk means you don't have to worry so much when buying the tree about whether it will stand up straight. It's also nice to be able to attach the base insert to the tree while the tree is conveniently laying on its side. Then simply lift the whole tree and drop the insert into the base.
However, my 15+ year old one finally developed a small crack near one of the clamping bolts in the base insert. I didn't want to chance it. And I was happy to find it is available at HD. We used the new one this season and had no issues. Great value.

Great product! Held my tree in place well, even after I anchored the tree a little crooked. An added bonus was how the base allowed you to gage how much water is needed even with a tree skirt. The only negative is that I wish the tree stand could swivel left to right, after its locked in place, to be able to turn the tree around with out having to move the whole base. You Gotta love 1st world problems :-).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tmstaton Don't waste time with any other Xmas Tree stands
Bought this because I used one to help a friend set up their Xmas tree and was able to avoid all the fussiness about whether the tree was straight or not. Allows incredibly easy adjustments with the press of a pedal instead of loosening/tightening a couple of screws. Worth every penny.

The product is pretty self explanatory. Very simple to use giving you a great satisfaction that you got something accomplished among all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. This is one task that you can look forward to with this tree stand.

I had a similar tree stand for years but it gave out last year. It was too late to buy this style so I ordered one on line this year in early November to ensure we would have one for our tree this year. When we took the product out of the box to put up our tree we discovered that the foot pedal would not move in and out of the stand. This is the key part of the stand for adjusting the tree. I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this product.

My tree this year was only a little over 6 ft., so I can't say for certain that this stand would hold a 10 ft. tree. However, assembly is incredibly easy (just a few little caps to screw onto the ends of the screws that hold the trunk in place), then you screw the trunk holder onto the trunk, drop the tree and trunk holder assembly into the stand, push the pedal down and move the tree until it's straight and level, and release the pedal. The pedal then pushes in slightly to lock into place, which prevents a child or animal from accidentally releasing the lock and tipping the tree over. The stand also comes with 4 foam rubber feet that adhere to the bottom - not included as part of the assembly instructions, but I put them on anyway, since they were provided.
Holds plenty of water, although you may need to trim some of the lower branches to give yourself enough room to get the water into the top of the stand. Rock-solid sturdy. A little more than I would normally spend for a tree stand, but the ease of getting the tree straight without adjusting screws 600 times makes it a worthwhile investment.
