Was wondering how difficult it is to convert a 1 sink vanity top to a 2 sink vanity top with regards to the plumbing.

More specifically, what would be the best way to add a second water source and drain for the second sink? Could you split off the existing hot & cold water and drain pipes? My corrent vanity top is 1 sink, 61 inch.

Answer:
Depends on if you do it to "code". You need two lines and a drain for each sink according to code, but you can do it the otherway if you buy some extension lines and adjustable plumbing.

Answer:
Captain,
It will be best for you to consult a plumber on this issue. Most likely you are going to need to add a second water line and drain to service the second sink. It is never a good idea to drain 2 sinks in 1 line.
Please let us know if we can help in any other way.
Thank you.

Answer:
Hello Irishbaby and thank you for your question.
The backsplash on the St. Paul 61 in. Colorpoint Technology Vanity Top in Mocha is integral to the countertop and cannot be removed. If you want a top without a backsplash, you can Special Order a custom vanity top at the Kitchen Department of your local Home Depot store with this specification.
Best wishes with your project.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks elegant & expensive. We purchased the vanity top in mocha for a bathroom remodel . The vanity top looks elegant and expensive. It definately makes the bathroom. It was light weight and very easy to install. We did have some issues with the bottom of the vanity top not aligning with our cabinet but we were able to ahere it into place. The sinks attached to the vanity are not china bowl sinks but a plastic composite and do not have an overflow drain. Also the color of the vanity top is not through and through, but a top layer. Hopefully this withstands without chipping or cracking. Time will tell. But at the moment we are very happy with this product. January 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty but be sure to order online! i LOVE THIS VANITY TOP, but it is cheaper to order it online than in the store. Paid more than I wanted to orginally, but worth it. Deliverd w no scratches or dents/chips. I have it placed on a allen and roth white contemporary style vanity and it looks so good! :) May 29, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well packaged and shipped, looks great Items was in perfect condition. Was delivered on time. Very clean and smooth finish on vanity. Looking forward to it for years to come. May 22, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by big sinks, all one piece We love the color, the large sinks and that it is all one piece. May 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. Very easy to install. It looks great, but isn't the highest quality stuff. However, we are very pleased with our purchase. August 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very sharp looking I'm very happy with my purchase, it's just as described. Very solidly made, looks great. I put it on top of a white vanite and I love it. June 12, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 61" vanity top Looks great and came when expected. I have had it for about 2 weeks and no problems. Packaged very well for delivery. February 6, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good value Came in on time and without defects. Color and appearance is exactly as it is shown on-line. It is heavy, but not too bad (84 lb). It appears to be solid while handling, no worries it would break without a good reason. The only surprise was that the sinks are not integrated, they are actually undermount, but made with the same material. It creates a half-inch gap around the edge of the top and the sinks, but it still is pretty good “match” (the gap is not big and actually even around). The thing I like is the profile of the bowl – very pleasant line. The bowls themselves are pretty big - i like it. The thing that was difficult – installing the faucets (because the pre-drilled holes are too close to the undermount bowl, so that the faucet is pushed back to the backsplash – that causes the hole to be exposed on the top). But to be fare – it also depends on the faucet, so maybe it is OK with other faucet types (I used Glacier Bay Builders). I managed to make it right at the end, so cannot complain too much. By the way , we did it before we actually installed the top - highly recommend. To the manufacture – my compliments – very nice deep color, just the right gloss (not too much, not too little), did not scratch yet (had a chance to challenge that since did some backsplash tile installation work around it). Also to the manufacture – I wish it was possible to order a matching half-wall cap, not just side splashes. That would make my day. I tried other places that attempt to do “mocha” – not even close, their’s are “watery” besides the difference in shade. December 4, 2012
