Is the vanity top included

Hi,

The description for this vanity indicates that there is a vanity top which I understand means the white basin. However, the specifications show that basin not included. Also there are no measurements as to the length and width of the basin. Does it mean we have to buy basin separately, if so what basin should we buy and the price. If a basin is included with this vanity, please indicate the basin measurements.

You could buy this vanity with or without a sink top. You have several options and you should read the specification on each item.

We purchased this in store and for us the vanity top/white basin did come with the base. It fits rather nicely in the cabinet. I don't have the measurements but the sink does overhang the cabinet base a little.

Answer:
Annie,
The Alpine top that comes with the Madeline vanity is a one piece top with intergal bowl (basin) that is why the description shows no basin.
Your question is good because many tops come with a undermount separate style sink basin but that is not needed with the Apline Top.
Thanks, St. Paul Team

The top is 19.5 inches deep, 24.4 inches wide and 1.73 inches tall. You will need to purchase a standard 3-hole, 4 inch bath faucet and drain before using the vanity.

Answer:
Yes, and the shelf also isn't the full depth of the cabinet so you may be able to have the shelf along with the plunger. I ended up not being able to use the shelf due to my existing drain being too low to fit the shelf in.

Can legs be removed?

Would it be feasible to saw off the legs, since this vanity is 2-3 inches taller than I'd like. (I like the look of this one, and want a vanity that's a bit taller than my current 30" tall one — but this one seems to be a full 6 inches taller.)

Answer:
Legs are not removable, but they can be sawed off so vanity sits directly on floor and is standard vanity height. I considered doing this as floor was not finished under old vanity, Instead I opted to paint a 1/2"x5 1/2" board black and fit it behind the front and side legs to block the open space under vanity and conceal my unfinished ceramic tile floor. Hope this helps, good luck

Rose,
You can cut the legs off to make it shorter. You will just need to be careful to measure even for all legs. As they say measure twice cut once.
Thanks,

That may be an option, but you'd want to be sure it doesn't affect your supply lines and waste line adversely. We have the vanity and we like the height since it doesn't require you to bend over so far. It's a great product.

Thanks for your interest in St. Paul Home Products sold exclusively through the Home Depot.
The faucet and water lines (taps) are sold separately. This allows you to select your own faucet to match your decor.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 37 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied I was renovating a 1987 half bathroom. This is a good choice for a small bathroom when you are trying to keep costs to a minimum. This sink is a crisp white- one reviewer said it was off white- no so. It is made of composite wood I believe. The legs were very, very difficult to align and as one reviewer mentioned- I also had to sand mine down with sand paper. That was a pain. Now that I had a contractor install it- I am happy with it. The shelf is removable. I could not use the shelf bc of the plumbing. Also, I had to buy a separate side splash as it was not included. August 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent low budget vanity I purchased this for a bathroom we seldom use, to replace an existing vanity that was quite old. This vanity looks nice, but the "wood" is very thin, and I can see that it would not hold up for very long if it was in a bathroom receiving average use. The composite top is nice, but the wood doors are out of alignment (not an installation issue, a manufacturing issue). I would not put this vanity in a kids bathroom or a main guest bathroom or master bath, as it wouldn't hold up. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You will love this vanity! Makes the bathroom look like a new room. Really happy with this vanity. Great value. August 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works for what I needed Need a small vanity for a guest bathroom. This worked out great. June 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Manufacturer quality control - poor! Went through thee boxes at the store to find the third one without a bad blemish on the side of the white bowl piece. Employees were also surprised and willingly swapped out. Had plumber to install only to find pat of a leh missing about a 1/2 " x 1/2" piece copped off the front of the leg. As It was fully installed when We noticed it we went to the box to see if it was there, and no, it was not! We did not pay the plumber to remove the sink to take it back as he had the kitchen, another bathroom and other things to do. Hopefully Home Depot will give me a refund in part. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by incredible vanity easy to install. The drain has to be thru the wall, not the floor. Great quality, roomy June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice for the Price. This vanity looks gorgeous in my very small bathroom - and I love that it has the dark wood and the white that I really wanted for my color palate. My only complaint is that one of the doors is bent in such a way that they don't line up perfectly - and while it's not SO bad that it needed replacing, it's still disappointing even in an expensive piece of craft. Also - there's a shelf insert for this vanity, but don't kid yourself that you'll actually be able to fit the shelf inside. It's a nice idea, but I can almost guarantee that the plumbing is going to get in the way. I've considered shaving the shelf down so I can slide it around the plumbing, but I don't know if I want to go to all that trouble. It'd be cooler if they made two thin shelves that bracket to the inside of the unit and can be shifted to one side or the other so they could be customized around the plumbing. It installed fairly easily, but one of the screw holes for the little feet that help you level the vanity wasn't drilled properly for me. I had to pop out the insert and redrill the hole myself to use the feet. All in all - not bad for the price, but do expect that you'll be mucking with it a bit, as the unit is also cheaply constructed, and may be flawed in some places. June 7, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by We had to send 2 Vanities back because they came Damaged, 1st was shipped, 2nd picked up Well we were looking for a Vanity with legs, so it would not touch floor , so it would last and not rot at bottom because of water on tile floor after showering and it had a matching wall mounted Storage Cabinet, however we had problem with 2 Vanities that came damaged/return and the 3rd has a damaged door waiting for replacement May 24, 2016
