I was pleasantly surprised beginning with the delivery. The driver was very friendly and placed the safe in an area of my garage that I had reserved for it. Because of his accommodation, I was able to get the safe into my house by myself. I was even more surprised that my wife allowed me to place the safe in our dining room. She liked the color and appearance. The ability to change the shelf depths is very useful with plenty of room left for taller weapons. With eight grandchildren, this safe has given us the peace of mind that we needed. Thank you, Stack-On, for a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by concretecutter VERY GREAT SAFE FOR THE $$$$, EVEN THOUGH MADE IN CHINA, GREAT SAFE
For the price you can't find another safe for the quality. Even though it is made in China, it is a nice product. I guess even my brand new Oakley $220.00 sunglasses are also made in China, and they are awesome. You will end up liking it more and more by the day!!! Do not pay double for safes that have less to them, even though built in U.S. . Not as good as this one. My friend and his father turned me on to Stack-On. Its a great brand for the buck.

The driver was only obligated for curb delivery, but he actually placed the safe exactly where I wanted it.(I tipped him.)
At 400 lbs. I could actually muscle it around myself, but with a good dolly and another person you can move it, as long as no stairs are involved.
There is at least one good American safe in this price range but delivery would have been over $400!
The safe is very very sturdy and I like the mechanical lock.
One drawback is that you can't change the combination, but I'm OK with that.
Looked at a competitively priced safe at a local sporting goods store and the digital lock was already broken on the floor demo!
Carpet is a little loose around the top, but I can live with it.
The barrel rests are too high for 16" barrel rifles as others have said. Since I don't want all of the side rests I removed one of them and the drywall anchors were easy to unscrew with a Phillips screwdriver.
I drilled two holes, screwed in the anchors, and lowered the rear barrel rest to a suitable level.
To easily access all of the rear spots I needed to remove both side rests but I am fine with that.
I will probably cut a notch in two of the shelves so I can still use them with my old, long double barrel shotgun in there. The gun is almost as long as the safe is tall.
I will have room for 6 "tactical" weapons on one side, (rear wall only) and maybe 10 traditional long guns on the other using the rear barrel rest and one side rest. That is a total of 16 and I don't see ever having that many long guns, but you never know.
By the time I add a pistol rack, electrical kit, Golden rod dehumidifier, lights and door organizer, I'll have another $100 in it but that should meet my needs for years to come.
I don't think a typical burglar would be able to get this safe open, but one that had done their homework would probably have it open in five minutes or less.
It's good to remember that any safe can be breached if the criminal has enough time.
I like the level of theft and fire protection that this safe offers for the price.
I had a 10 gun locker (security cabinet) for over 15 years and it kept curious kids out.
This safe is the next level of protection for a reasonable cost.
It's a good "entry level" safe.

425 lbs delivered, fireproof and uncomplicated. For under $700, you won't find a better deal and if free delivery gets thrown in, it's a bargain.
