Customer Questions & Answers

Does it need a battery to operate?

If so what type and how many?
Asked by: Nick
It takes 4 AAA batteries to operate electronically. Otherwise you can use the key. Always have the key with you because due to a design fault the batteries are easily dislodged. When this happened, it will only open with a key.

Comes with a cable?

Other stores have it with a #1500 pound cable, can it be secured down (bolted to car floor)?
Asked by: Bignredob
Yes. But be prepared to replace the four AAA batteries every couple months. Great safe.

Stack-On PC-650 should be 11” W x 8-1/4” D x 2-3/8” H according to manufacturer's website. The description below is saying dimensions 12.13" W x 12.5" D x 2.63" H, which are the dimensions for the PC-900. Trying to determine the actual dimensions and there which model this is.

Customer Reviews

Portable Safe with Electronic Lock in Black is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Craftsmanship Arrived with a nut floating around inside it. Disassembled it and found where the nut went. during this process I saw that wiring from the battery & servo were being rubbed against by the latch mechanism. The battery compartment is hard to get to. Wires going from the key pad to the servo are just routed under the foam padding but are not routed out of the way. I have no idea as to the actual "Safeness" of it but after I took care of all of the above, it will work for me as one added deterrent and /or delay to get to my stuff.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average If I never used this to travel via the airlines, I'd probably think it was totally awesome. Here's the downside to an otherwise great product. It takes very little effort to dislodge the batteries. On both airplane trips I had to use the key to open the safe. Following protocol, this safe was properly checked in at the airline counter and placed inside my normal luggage. Granted, I could have checked it in separately for an additional checked luggage fee but why? Anyway, the way the luggage goons throw the suitcases around, on both trips the batteries were dislodged. If I didn't take the key with me I would not have been able to open the safe. Taping the batteries in place won't work as the 4 batteries are recessed. I'll need a small item to take of the recessed area so that tape might work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stack On PORTABLE SAFE WITH ELECTRONIC LOCK IN BLACK It took a while to get here but its a good product. Cabled to something inside your car it allows you to put valuables or anything small and leave in the car safely while you shop. A thief with a bold cutter could take the safe but most thieves are the smash and grab type. the combo is easy to set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review It's a nice safe. It holds my beretta and an extra clip. It does have a loud beep when putting in the code.
