From stair treads, stair railing and a complete selection of Stair Parts, Surewood-LNL has what you need to make your stairs beautiful. The Surewood-LNL 3-1/2 in. Rail Bolt kit is the professionals choice to install most common stair handrails and fittings. It is made of steel and designed for use in interior rail construction. It comes with a wood plug to cover up the opening following installation and a curved bushing that promotes a snug fit of the hardware against the interior of the stock. The wood plug is installed using common woodworking glue and when the grain is aligned with the stock, produced a beautiful final product.

Hi Kurtis, the wrench you need is the Rail Bolt Wrench (Item# 205864570). Standard open-end or box-end wrenches are too big to fit into the hole required for this assembly. Hi Qback, the best method for turning the nut inside the rail is with a rail bolt wrench (item# 205864570). Standard open end wrenches will not fit inside the holes drilled to accept the nut, washer and bushing. Using a hammer and screwdriver may damage your rail and/or the rail bolt kit.
