First off, two or three of the other reviews were obviously written by the same (albeit, angry) person. Pine is not my first choice for the most durable stair tread, but these treads are good quality for the price.
Others complained that the treads are glued--well, I hope so! If you ever tried to use a single plank as a stair tread you woud soon find that they warp, regardless of how much glue or how many screws you use. Every pine stair tread I ever saw consisted of roughly 2-inch strips glued together with alternating grain direction to prevent warping. Solid wood does not mean a single slab of wood.
I do my fair share of bad reviews, but I hate to see a good product get bashed by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

This tread is solid wood with a plywood grade pine skin on the surface. be aware of this in case you (or your customer) are expecting real pine graining look. Looks more like cabinet grade plywood. Nothing like the picture shown online. Overall, it is a stable and durable tread that is easy to work with.

This stair tread can be used for any staircase, since it's cheaper than Northern red oak. The building code for a staircase calls for a unit run of 10 1/2 inches, and a unit rise of 7 1/2 inches.

I've purchased this item several times, and not once for use as a stair. I figured it would make a great DIY shelf platform seeing as it can carry the weight of a human when properly anchored, and it's already rounded on the front side and fits flush with the wall on the back side. I have yet to be disappointed, and the item sells for less that shelf systems that can't carry a fraction of the weight.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Frisco Really good steps. Stained them an painted with jimfloor .5yrs an stell look great. Donot warp because they are laminated. Solded wood will warp over
Real good product. Will use again when needed. Easy to clean an does not show foot prints.

I replaced old stair treads with these many years ago. They've been on a staircase with heavy traffic (3 children from school age to young adults and their friends) for at least 15 years. I have since moved into a different home, the stair treads in this house need replacing also and I will most definitely be purchasing these again.

Have used these for a lot of things beyond their intended purpose, including book cases and furniture. Good, solid quality, true to size; I've been very please with them

this is a veneer wood product - not a "solid" pine board. The photo on line is not the current product. It may be constructed from 100% solid pine, but it is NOT solid pine.
If you want solid pine this is not for you. We will be returning the ones we bought. Wish the product specifications had something about being glued or veneer - it is misleading. I had someone pick these up for me, now I need to drive 80 miles one way to return them.
