Answer:
Probably not without some modification. The "back edge" of this nosing is milled to be 3/4" thick, so your tile would have to be about that same height off the subfloor or this will be too high and not align causing a trip hazard.

I looked at the picture and there is no groove on the opposite side of the bull nose. How will the molding connect to 3/4 inch tongue and groove flooring?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality nosing for stair landing I have been replacing my stair treads and landing with unfinished oak and staining and finishing it myself. I purchased the treads from HD and the wood flooring for the landing from a third party. This nosing matched up with the tongue of the new flooring as well as the coloring of the treads and the flooring. The wood is in good shape without any undesired flaws. Since the piece is unfinished, it allows me to choose my own stain color and also to match it up with the other unfinished oak components I used. I am very happy with the quality of the nosing as well as the treads I bought from HD. February 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked as intended. I used this in lieu of the laminate stair nose that went with the flooring we purchased. The solid oak is quite durable. It was unfinished and untreated, this allowed me to stain it to match the flooring quite closely. I have no complaints about the product. That being said. I am a more advanced user. I would imagine some people would have difficulty sizing the product to the appropriate thickness. It comes with a rabbet on the underside so that it will fit over the sub floor at the top of the stairs, overlapping it slightly. This means that the actual height of the piece when installed is around 3/4 of an inch. This is fine if your flooring is 3/4 of an inch thick. If it is under that, you will need some way to make the rabbet deeper. I personally used a hand plane because I had to remove almost 3/8 inch of the material. You could remove material from the top side as well, but that would impact the round-over on the front of the nose, and then it wouldn't look right. If this is being used in conjunction with the Stairtek retreads, you will want to purchase a strip of red oak cove molding to attach to the stair riser on the front so that it will match. An additional pitfall is your choice of adhesive, make absolutely sure that it is not water based, a water based adhesive will soak into the wood and cause it to warp. May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stair nosing piece for hardwood floor I would like to see this product made with an adapter for either male or female mating piece of hardwood flooring. This could be done with a narrow transition piece. September 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use The stair nose is easy to use. It is strong. However, the design is limited in a few application (floor of laminate or wood) only. June 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nicely milled stair nose Product can in quicker than expected and was nicely milled. May 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by material was grade "A" quility using web site was easy, material was what I expected and was delivered in a timely manner February 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Oak treads and nosing The treads were excellent and a great price. The nosing had a very noticeable flaw in the middle of the nosing requiring me to rip the nosing to remove the flay in the oak. That was disappointing considering that all twelve treads were in perfect condition. December 11, 2012
