Purchased the shed online, free shipping "to my curbside". The day before arrival, the shipping company called to confirm delivery time, and that I'd be ready with my "crew"? to unload the truck, which had no power lift gate (the shed was on a skid and weighed over 1800 pounds). A panicked call to Customer Service helped a little: They contacted the shipper and had the delivery driver assist me and my wife to unload it from the truck PIECE BY PIECE; taking over an hour. (so much for "you don't even need to be home to accept delivery". It wasn't shipped BY Home Depot, but by a lumber company in Oregon, which clearly knew nothing about Home Depot's "curbside delivery" policy.
Once we began construction, it became apparent that a few wooden pieces that should have been there were missing, which we ultimately had to purchase separately. (Maybe related to having the skid taken apart on the truck, causing them to have been left out; or maybe they were never shipped?) It also became clear that the kit shipped was for the model with the doors on the 10 foot side, instead of on the 12 foot side as I had ordered (that's why I put the review under this model, since it's what I actually got). I had to make changes in the shed placement to make up for the different door location.
On completion of construction, the shed was quite good looking, although I had some concerns about the design: The cedar roof shingles came in long, premade strips about 4-6 feet long, which attached directly to the supporting rafters and provided the lateral support (meaning there was no underlayer upon which you could install waterproof sheathing or paper). Instructions, rather vague because they applied to more than one different kit, said sheathing was "recommended on SOME models", but without underlayer to attach it to, it didn't appear this was one of them. Seemed odd, but maybe the manufacturer knows something I don't about the waterproof nature of these cedar shingle strips?
WRONG !!!! After the shed was completed and filled with my tools and equipment, we had several days of hard rain. The roof leaked EVERYWHERE !! Numerous tools, etc. damaged. I am now evaluating methods of removing the ENTIRE ROOF, and adding an underlayer to which I can attach waterproof sheathing, and then replacing the cedar roof.
The ball was dropped at every stage on this kit, from original shipping, to parts completeness, to a significant basic design flaw. These problems have caused expense and delay, and have made the shed process a nightmare. It is a HANDSOME shed, and some day when I get the roof off, fixed, and back on again, perhaps that will help me to forget the problems; but it's going to take a long time.
