This small hand utility saw could probably cut an 18 inch diameter tree, but it would not be my first choice of tools to cut such a tree... A CHAIN SAW is the proper tool to cut a tree with. That said, if you insist on using this saw to cut an 18 inch diameter log, much depends on HOW you want to cut that log. Is it a standing tree that you need to fell? If so you need to cut a notch in one side and a horizontal cut in the other, strictly according to SAFE logging practices. If you are cutting through an already felled tree, the strategy will be different... I have used many different types of saws to cut trees, and it is possible to improvise in many different ways, but the CHAIN SAW is the proper tool to cut logs with... If you know how to keep an ax sharp, you could also use an ax...
I bought one of these saws to accurately cut up a sheet of 3/4" birch plywood, and it worked VERY well for that... Read Less

Answer:
Yes, this saw should do a very good job cutting PVC pipe. It might do a better job than a hacksaw because the blade is thicker and stiffer, and thus should make it easier to achieve a nice square and even cut for larger PVC or ABS plastic pipe diameters. Note that special ratcheted knife cutters are available and work best for smaller plastic pipe, say up to about 1 inch IPS...

Answer:
You could try the manufacturers web site to see if they sell blades only. Simplest solution just buy a new saw after blade cost and shipping it will be probably cost about the same.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Accuracy, Sharpness, Speed, YES!! Besides cutting out pieces from a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet of Birch plywood for a furniture project, I needed to cut a bunch of rough Redwood 2" x 6" lumber to length for a planter box. This little saw did a terrific job! It worked FAST with this new tooth grinding pattern, but didn't sacrifice the accuracy I wanted from a small hand saw. Thumbs up for this affordable but excellent woodworking tool! March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sharp easy cuts I purchased this saw as a replacement for a friend saw I had broken, I used the saw to cut out some busted drywall, the saw cut fast, did not bend excessively. The handle felt very comfortable in my hand, held together unlike the one I had broken. March 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality saw I bought this utility saw for a project that did not give me much room to insert the saw. The saw worked great. Cut very well, true and fast, leaving a nice clean edge. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mini utility saw saw is lightweight but strong and rigid enough to cut a straight line at awkward angles or in tight spaces. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good little saw I was a little sceptical but this is a great little saw; smooth, fast... a good addition May 17, 2016
