10 in. Surform Plane is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did it's job. I needed to trim down 2 doors and knew that even a coarse sandpaper on my power sander wouldn't make a dent. Not having owned a classic wood plane I considered buying one ($25), but opted for this rasp style, mostly because it had a longer planing surface...and was $10 cheaper. It took about 10 strokes down the surface of the door edge to understand how the tool actually cut the wood, but it did a really good job. Make sure you have a shop vac nearby as the wood shavings pile up pretty quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for planing the edge of drywall This plane is excellent for cleaning up the edges of drywall sheets. Useful when reinstalling windows or entire door assemblies without removing the existing interior drywall. Creates a lot of dust, but eats through the wallboard + mud and leaves a flat, crisp edge. I use traditional block planes on wood, so no idea how this performs on that material... but it's a secret weapon for drywall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good while it lasted This really is a fantastic tool for woodworking - while it stays intact. It broke in a single day! The blade material is made of high carbon steel, but the temper is horribly done on it. The blade cracked on me during use, where it attached to the handle. They sell replacement blades, but I opted to return it instead. With the new rasp I further tempered it at 300 deg for an hour. Holding up for a few days now. It needs work. The attachment mechanism isn't anything to brag about.
