I used it to cut rebar - can't see why it wouldn't be able to cut a hollow metal pole.

Answer:
No problem with the 1.75 dia but is that pole a light weight aluminum or some harden tempered steel? Anyways just take some extra blades with different teeth patterns and you'll cut it.

Answer:
It will cut that pole, assuming you have the right blade. This handle will cut it easily and, more importantly, straight.

Answer:
This saw will cut through pretty much anything, providing you use the correct blade. The mini saw that comes with this one should help you to get into most tight spaces.

Answer:
As a matter of fact, it does not! You'll have to purchase a ten inch blade separately for the mini saw.

12 in. High-Tension Hack Saw with Mini Hack Saw is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Saw! I purchased this hack saw to cut down some leftover rusted pipes in my basement and get rid of them. I was able to make 2 cuts before the break broke in half and almost sliced my arm off. Do not recommend this saw at all!

This saw did the job in a matter of seconds! Mini saw is a bonus that I am yet to use in some future project. I think this is more value for money (having 2 saws, one big, one small). Of course it would be trouble if you want to cut something fore than a few inches of thickness, but otherwise this is very good for the majority of casual projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very solid purchase This is a very good saw. The handle is nice and large to give good stability when cutting and it is pretty comfortable. The price is very reasonable at around $16 and even comes with a mini saw for when you need to get into a tight spot. My only complaints is that the saw is a little on the heavy side and that it does not come with any extra blades, namely for the extra bonus mini saw. Overall a great buy!

Very comfortable position to hold and very good grip. I chose this over DeWalt hacksaw because it is lighter and feel better when I hold it. And on top of that, it comes with a smaller baby hacksaw for tight space and better price too. It is a good addition to my valuable tool chest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pair of Saws for one low price Of course I have several hack saws, but can never find one when I need it. This looked like the best option on the shelf, and I'm glad I bought it. The included mini saw is great for hard to reach spaces, and blade changes on the regular saw were very simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw I have used many hacksaws, but this is the first one I have ever had that kept the blade straight. I bought it to cut PVC drain pipes at work, and it cuts perfectly.
