Answer:
Stanley licenses its name to Alton Industries for vacuum cleaners; Alton Industries sells replacement filters for high prices, for example $15 for a cloth filter (25-1201). I found 3 for $8, curiously from a vendor located in the same town: Palatine, Illinois, on eBay.

2.5 Gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 97.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but mighty Stanley 2.5 Gl Vacuum I needed a small vacuum for my car and other needs. The suction is really good and is small and easy to carry around! It comes with the attachments you'll need for everyday jobs. It works really good taking pet hair and sand out of my vehicle. Comes with different filters. The sponge one you can clean and wash and a paper disposable one for other choirs like dust or gypsum from drywalls.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from accessory attachment to flexible hose poorly designed weak. The hard plastic attachment that connects to the flexible hose came apart and won't reattach had to permanently reattach using gorilla tape otherwise this is a good powerful little machine handy for small projects and vacuuming automobiles. The permanent reattached attachment doesn't allow other attachments to be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING this vacuum rules so hard. powerful and compact. if i had a critique it would be that the power button likes to stick sometimes and i would prefer a switch instead of a single button, but that does not take away from how well this machine operates. i have not used it with water but i have confidence it will do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality vacuum at a great price! When I first purchased this vacuum, it was to replace the Shop Vac i owned which had died. I was never too happy with that vacuum as it always fell over and the filter was a pain. My main use being apartment cleanup for my rental unit. This vacuum has a more powerful suction with a much simpler filter design. The on/off button is very visible and is easy to engage. Never understood the toggle switch design on these types of vacuums, and this vacuum resolves that issue. Lots of attachments, what else can you ask for at the price-point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not perfect but worth double the selling price This is a great shop vac worth twice the price. It's light weight, easy to use, and good suction. I only wish the hose was longer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Vacuum was to small for the price Vacuum was to small for the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a good wet/dry vacuum as it has strong suction and its on wheels, two features that I was looking for. This vacuum with its 4 hp motor has a really strong suction. Combined with the wheels, its a really good small wet/dry vacuum. Two small drawbacks are the short electrical cord and the short hose. If the cord could be 5 feet longer and the hose 3-4 feet longer and more flexible, then it would be an excellent vacuum. BTW, other reviewers have said that the dust bags are difficult to find. I use the 2 - 3 gallon Shop Vac brand of dust bags and have found that they work good. I found them at Wall Mart. It would be good if Home Depot would carry the dust bags. Its not a quiet vacuum, but with such a strong motor, quiet would be difficult to say the least.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Vac for the money I wanted a small shop vac for my patio. And this little vac is perfect. It is small enough to store in my corner cabinet, has a large enough capacity for the mequite leaves and twigs that collect on my patio and the power it takes to suck them up easily. Assembly was easy; just took a bit of hammering to get the wheels into their swockets. Two criticisms: the power cord is too short and I have to use an extension cord. My patio is small and the outlet is located in the center of the patio so the power cord is really, really too short.. Second criticism is the loudness of the vacuum. Probably should be using earplugs when I use it.
