Bought this vac as a Christmas gift to my self. So far I really like it, good suction and floor cleaning attachments. Also very quiet operation.

I knew I should have bought a shop-vac and I should have gone much bigger. The hose diameter is very small, at the most an inch, and it is probably only good for picking up dust and small debris about the size of grains of rice. Unfortunately for me, I bought this because I was doing a shower renovation and I needed to clean all of the broken tiles and chips. I ended up borrowing a bigger shop vac from the super which finished the job in 20 minutes. I wasted 2 hours with this vac cleaning out the hose. And also - the design is poor, where the hose goes into the body, there is almost a right angle which invariably catches the corners of debris and blocks the unit.
This unit is only fit for small jobs. The picture makes it look far bigger than it is. it's really just marginally bigger than a standard tool box on end.
Summary: Go big.

I needed a wet vac. This had the most powerful suction for the best price. It feels cheap and plastiky. That is to be expected at this price range. It takes the same floor space as the 1 gallon capacity Stanley vac but holds up to 4 gallon. Why not get the bigger bucket? If you want it to have its full potential for suction, you will need to remove the top, and put some Frost King foam rubber weather stripping around the rim. Cost about $5. If you want this thing to have its full potential, this is necessary. I think the size is about 1/4 inch or 5/8 inch wide. The slim stuff.
Because it is taller and fairly slim. Be careful not to tip it over, especially when using WET mode.
People complain about the price of the Vacuum Bags for this thing. That is understandable. I have a Helpful HINT. The bags for a Tri-Star vacuum have been around for over 50 years. These bags can be turned inside out and placed on that thing that sticks down inside the bucket of the vacuum. It kind of looks like a con-dom when the bag is placed properly. This is for DRY operation of course. Now the vacuum can be filled with dirty stuff and the air will come out CLEAN. Use the Tri-Star vac bag as a filter! Even the HEPA (High Efficiency) bags for Tri-Star are not that expensive.
This is about the strongest Vacuum for the price of ANY. With a little care, it may last a few years. I think it's a bargain.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by PepperPat Suction power not great
Used twice. First time had great suction power, second time not so great. Checked to make sure nothing had stopped it up and could find no problem. Will return. Not sure if it was just defective or if another will be the same. Did like the size.

Needed to replace an old one that was dying. This one is smaller, quieter, yet more powerful.
