I bought this generator last year after Hurricane Irene and had a transfer switch installed to power a well pump, furnace, fridge, microwave and a few other appliances including some lights. We just got power back today 12 days after Hurricane Sandy blew in. The generator has been in near continuous use for this time save for oil changes every 20 hours and refueling. No issues to report and it handled all our power needs extremely well. Very satisfied with this product and would recommend to anyone shopping for a good size weatherproof generator.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Buckaroo Great Product - Flaws are minor
I just received this generator, it arrived in good condition and is pretty easy to put together. You will need a funnel to put the oil in, and it doesnât come with oil like some of the others. It takes about 1 ½ quarts of 10w 30 oil. The battery was easy to hook up after removing the ground cable from the frame to give it slack then reattaching it to the frame.
The good â¦.
Performance ⦠Out Standing ⦠Starts quickly and easily with both electric start and pull rope. I have run the unit 3 hours to start the break in and this unit runs my whole house and doesnât even breathe hard!!! Yes whole house air, refrigerator, 2 computers, TV and some lights. The only time it bogged the motor down was when the A/C would kick on, but after that it ran as smooth and easy as when there was no draw on it! I didnât try to turn on microwave, washer or drier or coffee maker.
The Bad⦠Shipping, UPS wanted me to pay for the truck to have a lift gate, I told them no way, I get free delivery, they checked and said ok and the driver delivered it and took it to the back of the house so it worked out ok. The handles, they make the unit feel as heavy as it really is, some units have the handles lift the weight so its over the wheels not in your hands and on your back. The wheels are too small and get flat spots from the weight so it is hard and wobbly to roll, but I only go the length of my garage and place it just outside the door so its not much of a problem for me.
Over all.. this is a great performer, and great value considering if you buy a cheaper model with same numbers, 10,000 and 8,000 you will have to build a small house to make it useful because you cannot run the others in the rain and what good is an emergency generator if you canât run it in the rain. Also I have had some of the cheaper models with same engine size and power rating, that would not run the whole house with the A/C.
I am going to finish the break in period and run it for another 5 hours if it fails in any way I will post it here.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Phonzo The generator performed flawlessly during the MD power outage in July 2012
July 2012 was the second time I had to use the generator for an extended period and I'm pleased with its performance. The generator runs the entire house with all appliances pluged and ready to go. The circuit breaker on the generator only popped once when my wife ran the hair dryer and iron at the same time. It ran continuosly without shutdown for 72 hours in temps in the upper 90's to100's. Fuel consumption was as advertized and it ran pretty close to 12hrs on a single tank. The only drawback is the weight of generator with the wheels provided. After sitting a while the tires develop flat spots that make it unpleasent to move. The Tires are really to small for this generator and its heavy when trying to move it. overall its a great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Rick Well designed and appears durable
As expected - started right-up and ran like a charm once battery is hooked-up - which is difficult unless you have small hands or a wide variety of tools to facilitate. Surprised no break-in instructions or periodic running suggestions in owners manual. Only feature missing is a gas gauge.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by SadStanley Doesn't Work
Had the generator for 2 years and ran it once a month to make sure it works for a total of only 10 hours. The first month it started no problem but gave off no power. Called support and they talked me through the trouble shooting. A wire was not fully connected, I pushed it back in and it worked. This weekend I was doing my monthly run and was powering 3 light bulbs for 20 minutes I turned the bulbs off to run it without a load and I noticed the power on the volt meter slowly counting down to 0 (no power). Tried several times but still no power. Checked all the wires...all were connected. Called customer support and they talked me through several fix it steps, but still no power. Now I have to find a way to get this 250 pound waste of a machine into my van and bring it back to Home Depot to see if they can fix it. They will not pick it up or deliver back to me. They have a large hand truck, which they will rent to me for $45...and Stanley isn't sure they will cover the repairs. Don't buy this unit!!
