Answer:
Approximately 6-1/2 inches by 14 inches. I clamped mine to a 17" x 24"x 1" board and put it on the patio table so I could sit on the bench while I sawed. Lazy, but comfortable.

I would not recommend using it for that...the unit is really cheap and does not provide very accurate cuts. Get an electric saw. I threw mine away.

Answer:
I take it you want a 45 degree angle for a corner cut. I used the far right slant on the miter box where Stanley name is embossed.

it's not for flush cutting or anything, its for cutting across a piece diagonally, from top right to bottom left
for other angles/slots/sizes, you COULD use the box to fabricate a more complex wooden miter box. with whatever capabilities you want, in theory. be aware that you'll need to do some tricky improvising to make one that's bigger or even the same size, and that any mistakes made and tool flaws will be amplified greatly and clearly visible in all the cuts made via an imperfect new box.
also, you'll pretty quickly run out of saw length to do much more and need a proper keeper-quality long backsaw
PS or you can cut the other end of an article to one of the existing angles, use that new cut to position and brace the piece at an angle to the box & saw, and select an angle that sums up with the board's position to give you a new possible cutting angle
also you can cut triangles n stuff to brace against as angle jigs, thereby letting you cut a piece at unique angles, no standard angle cut on piece first to brace thru needed - just stick it against the triangles or whatever you just cut Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool for making picture frames This miter box-saw combo is easy to use, simple and affordable. It's plastic frame is lightweight and will contain the sawdust produced while in use, making it a godsend for living in the small spaces. The slots on both sides of the box allow for the different angled cuts. It's a great tool for making small picture frames. The price is very reasonable to boot, is actually a fraction of the cost of a powered version. Fits my budget to a T. May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Miter Box for The Price Bought for use in cutting floor trim. Make the job easy. A good value for the money. The holding pegs were very useful. May 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a really bad experience! This product needs improvement, and it needs more angles. It would do justice to this product if it also had templates for difficult angles. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love the fact that a woman can operate it Fun to learn how do do things myself. It's testy but we don't give up easily May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A "must" for the DIY'er!. Product was of excellent quality. I used to own a wooden "box" that served it's purpose for many years. This "box" is so much better. I highly recommend this item. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great The box makes it really easy to cut good 45degree and 90degree angles. It also has plastic sticks that can keep wood in place for you to cut. For best results you will need to secure the box to a table. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well...can't beat the price Used this to cut shower door top and bottom rails. Perfect cuts...pegs did their job of helping to keep the cut lined up. I think they could have included 2 more pegs...four total...instead of just the two. March 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Good quality hand tool and will do the job for you if you need to cut standard angles. March 14, 2016
