Do the blinds tilt open?

I see you can raise and lower the blinds but can you also tilt them open to let in some light?
Asked by: Pvilledad
Yes they do, up and down, but they don't close all the way tight.

yes the door does come without blinds but you need to look that up separately...I thinks it sells for 600-700.

I need to know the rough opening. The 1 1/2 "is not a good answer and not what I need to know.

Asked by: Janet
The dimensions are the nominal door size, which corresponds to the rough opening (if your opening is orthogonal--all 90-deg. angles). Also pay attention to the header above the door frame. These doors cannot support any vertical load.

After a storm took out our patio door in the kitchen we replaced it with this product. We were so excited to have the blinds within the glass. No maintenance and limiting the sun exposer was our main concern. We ordered this online and had it shipped to the store to save shipping costs. The contractor installed the patio door for us. We are happy that both side open which gives us options that we did not have before. Almost 1 year to the day while adjusting the blinds small brown pebbles started falling from the inside of the windows. The more I moved the blinds the more the pebbles fell. Now I have blinds that I cannot use and the bottom of the window is full of brown pebbles that I cannot remove. I tried to call the support center to no avail. I called Home Depot and they transferred me to Stanley Tools, UGH. After many many many calls and google searches I final got the 866 # to what I can only assume is to a mail box to nowhere. It is frustrating that even Home Depot stated that I should have bought their warranty and I would not have this problem. My point is that when you buy a product with a warranty it should be upheld. Lesson learned either make sure you will never need a warranty or know in advance to purchase the warranty if it is substandard product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get a different door Worst choice me made to date for our home. We ordered the doors. First time they were shipped they came broken and so the store reordered them. Then we had to wait another flew weeks for the 2nd set, they were broken too, but less bad so we justhought fixed it ourselves. The customer service was confusing and hard to get a hold of anyone. One of the door slides very nice. But the other side is very stiff. We used wd40 and that worked for a week and then same problem again. The screen door is stuck. And hasn't opened in months. Hopefully I can get out this summer and look at it again. The black handles on the screen door are very poor quality. There is already a ton of rust on them in just over a year. When we first got them the blinds didn't work. We had to get a new peice to slide the blinds from Canada. Also, the lip at the bottom is hard to clean out, so during and leaves collect. Now that the blinds work, we do like that feature for having babies and dogs around. We appreciate that the blinds can tilt or go up. Not many doors we looked at had that feature. Overall, this door was and still is high maintenance.

I would not recommend this door or the company that makes them, STANLEY DOORS. I have been trying for several months now, to contact STANLEY DOORS. I have called and left messages. I have e-mailed them also. STANLEY DOORS has not returned my calls or e-mails. I need a part. It is a small screw that fell out of the door lock mechanism. I found that ALL the small screws were loose. With the small screw missing, the door can not be locked. If this is the way they, STANLEY DOORS cover the warranty for just a small screw, I have a good idea how STANLEY DOORS deals with bigger problems.

Having this unit shipped to store caused some unneeded dents and scratches to the finish (cannot be repaired). The unit comes with zero information; You better know how to install doors and windows! Blinds could close tighter for sure (especially in your bedroom). The unit itself is very smooth to operate. The locks feel secure. Make sure the stop is at the top of BOTH DOORS; my handle came cracked because the opposing door had slid open too hard and had nothing to stop it (except the handle). Too busy to take anything back or to wait for a new door. Minor, yet completely avoidable, damages. I sound picky but I am just letting everyone know to go get the unit immediately and look it over well! STALK THEM TO GET HELP LOL!!! XXX Home Depot

The door is very heavy and would be impossible to lift without removing both doors from the frame. I called the customer service line for Stanley to find how to remove the doors. I called but no one would answer or return my numerous messages. I guess the guarantee is worthless. I finally went to my local Home Depot and talked to the associate that was the one that worked with doors. She had the same result but finally found out that the doors can be removed and sent a message to us. But by this time, we figured it out and removed the doors so we could install the door frame. We installed the frame and reinstalled them. A lot of work but its done and the doors look stunning in the house. The instructions are very poor and there is no customer service of any kind, so the guarantee does not exist. Home depot needs to have a discussion about this or stop selling their product. We expected much more from Home Depot and Stanley Doors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Door = 5/5, Installation = 3/5 Bought this door when 15% off, so the price was certainly right, especially considering the built in blinds which I highly recommend. I have installed patio doors previously and was able to get this installed with 1 helper on a Friday night (+/- 4 hrs), which included flashing and re-working the rough opening since this door was slightly larger than the last. However, the jambs were slightly warped (took a lot of muscle power to get square/plumb), there are no nailing flanges, and no installation instructions. About another 4 hours for interior/exterior trimming, including cutting siding and adding jamb extensions, and other finicky work. You definitely need to know what you're doing to get this door installed properly. Overall though, a good buy. By the way it's not a Stanley Door its a Veranda Door (unless Stanley makes Veranda for HD).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Live in US? Don't buy The door came with 0 instructions. My husband (who has construction experience and has installed lots of windows and doors was given the run around by the Stanley customer service dept. "we don't know we will call you back" - (no response - call again - same run around). My husband called back 5 times and kept getting transferred to either voicemail boxes that were full and you couldn't leave a message or numbers that just rang to no end. Yes, the website lists the width of the door. Shame on us for not realizing that it may be standard for Canada but it isn't standard for USA. Home Depot online should notate that better!! It's custom order so we will have to engineer a solution to fit our standard US wall width. Thankfully my husband can do this. Be warned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough We bought two of these doors and they both came in well packaged and were in good condition upon arrival. We paid for a contractor to install them so I cannot comment on ease on installation, however no difficulties were reported to me. Doors are a little stiff to move, likely because they are new, but that is expected. The doors look good installed in bedrooms as we had done, however the doors appear to be of lesser quality than others priced slightly higher. I would suggest this door not be installed in main living areas, as the appearance, although good, is just good enough for low traffic areas.
