Answer:
Hello,
The blinds tilt, raise, and lower with an integrated one-touch controller. Yes, you can tilt the blinds to let in some light. These are not blackout blinds, but they do a good job of blocking the sunlight.
Thank you for your inquiry.
I hope this answers your question.

Answer:
The blinds tilt both open and closed however they don't close tight. The blinds act as no more than a very light filter for the sunlight. It's almost like not having blinds. A really poor design.
They do also have the option of raising the blinds to the top to leave clear glass.

I need to know the rough opening. The 1 1/2 "is not a good answer and not what I need to know.

Answer:
The dimensions are the nominal door size, which corresponds to the rough opening (if your opening is orthogonal--all 90-deg. angles). Also pay attention to the header above the door frame. These doors cannot support any vertical load.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice double sliding door I bought this door for the internal blinds and also for the unique double slide function. The door was installed by my contractor and he did note that it was a little difficult to install as previous reviews have noted. The door seems to be of good quality and slides nice. You have to make sure to push the doors firmly shut for the locks to engage. We have not experienced a winter with it yet, but it seems to be a well built door. It took a month to have it shipped to the store near me, and it was crated nicely. July 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Buy this Patio Door Do not buy this Stanley Patio door The only solid area of the door is the wood frame on the sides. Plastic areas of frame are so week; sliding doors fell off tracks twice when installing and there was hardly a bend when pushing it into place. The bottoms kept dropping down Screen adjusting bolts; two were stripped. Screen catches when opening and closing not matter where adjusted too I hard to tar paper the edges of framed area There is still a drop in the center of door, and this frame fit in tight to the framed opening Nothing visually wrong with rough framed opening Find out how shafted i am come colder months, not money to buy another let alone remove and install another Becarefull for the buy that you think you are getting Stick with Master Piece August 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Door = 5/5, Installation = 3/5 Bought this door when 15% off, so the price was certainly right, especially considering the built in blinds which I highly recommend. I have installed patio doors previously and was able to get this installed with 1 helper on a Friday night (+/- 4 hrs), which included flashing and re-working the rough opening since this door was slightly larger than the last. However, the jambs were slightly warped (took a lot of muscle power to get square/plumb), there are no nailing flanges, and no installation instructions. About another 4 hours for interior/exterior trimming, including cutting siding and adding jamb extensions, and other finicky work. You definitely need to know what you're doing to get this door installed properly. Overall though, a good buy. By the way it's not a Stanley Door its a Veranda Door (unless Stanley makes Veranda for HD). May 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Patio Doorwall! Very happy with this purchase! The door slides smoothly, looks great, and isn't drafty at all. The blinds are great and add the privacy my wife and I were looking for. Install took me about 6 hours and included three trips to the hardware store for additional materials. August 21, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by sliding door with shortcomings We chose this door because of the internal blinds. Our last door (made by farley) opens and closes better seems better quality. The stanley door rolls harder, the screen doesn't fit right but the biggest problem is the black plastic handles on the screen. They hit and interfere with the other door handles to the point where you can not just open and close the glass door without first monkeying around with the screen ( forcing the handles by one another). The general quality seems less, bottom line, if you don't need the blinds buy another door. June 17, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by no followup service ordered door thru home depot and got home found handle broken. home depot called stanley and they said would send another handle. two months later and still no handle.will not buy anything else from stanley! September 7, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Denutche: Not what I expected If you are buying this product because of the blinds...FORGET IT. They don't close tight enough to keep out the sun much AT ALL. I've purchased sliding doors with blinds before, this is just a poor design. The directions were bad, if you could find them. It was par of the wrapping. The quality seams fair although we haven't had any really cold weather to test it. I paid about the same for the last patio door with blinds and found it to be a much better product so far. If I don't move a painting on the wall it will be sun faded by the end of the winter. (with the blinds CLOSED). November 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stanley Double Sliding Door We love this door. There were no issues with installation and the doors open and close sooo smoothly. Everyone comments on how nice the doors open. The bristles on the screen door took a couple of weeks to lay right for complete closure. We simply closed it tight, let it set for a few days and did the same on the other side. Works great now! The only thing we did not like (at all) where the black plastic handles on the screen door. They are not the same quality as the rest of the door and look awful with everything else being white. Expected better for a door at this price point, and they have been replaced with white metal ones. This is why we gave 4 stars for value and quality. We love the blinds. They are not block out but suit our needs perfectly and function with ease. Again, they were a little stiff at first but after a couple of weeks they were operating with ease. Thank you Stanley for a great door. May 19, 2015
