Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chad Nice double sliding door
I bought this door for the internal blinds and also for the unique double slide function. The door was installed by my contractor and he did note that it was a little difficult to install as previous reviews have noted. The door seems to be of good quality and slides nice. You have to make sure to push the doors firmly shut for the locks to engage. We have not experienced a winter with it yet, but it seems to be a well built door. It took a month to have it shipped to the store near me, and it was crated nicely.

Door has been installed for a few weeks now. LOVE the dual slider. Use both sides regularly. Because HD does not stock this door I could not see the threshold height. Turns out it is about 3" tall. Biggest problem for me with that is my elderly father is in a wheelchair and this door is the only one with a ramp, but his wheelchair cannot go over the threshold. I also have a rescued paralyzed Dachshund and a 4 pound Yorkie that find the threshold challenging. Not real pleased with quality of door....expected more from Stanley. One door blind pulls up on right side when closing at night and leaves about a 1"gap on that side so it makes it look cheap. Lots of caulk left on door at seams looks bad. Doors are not closing well but Home Depot crew is coming back and hopefully it will be an easy fix and not a door defect. Weatherstripping coming loose since first day. I love the screen but definitely understand other customers complaints with it. It hangs on the outer door, but for me it is not a big issue. Even though I have some complaints about the door, I still really like the concept of it and it looks nice from a distance if you can't see the caulk and crooked blind (the blind really irritates me because I expect better, especially on a door that costs this much). My house has had the same original patio slider for 40 years so I can't really compare this door to others. I still would recommend, especially if like me, your room is arranged so you will utilize both doors. Have concerns about lasting quality of door but hopefully those concerns will be unwarranted. Could not write this review without giving credit to the Home Depot crew that installed my door. Did an awesome job and very pleasant to work with.

Do not buy this Stanley Patio door
The only solid area of the door is the wood frame on the sides. Plastic areas of frame are so week; sliding doors fell off tracks twice when installing and there was hardly a bend when pushing it into place. The bottoms kept dropping down
Screen adjusting bolts; two were stripped. Screen catches when opening and closing not matter where adjusted too
I hard to tar paper the edges of framed area
There is still a drop in the center of door, and this frame fit in tight to the framed opening
Nothing visually wrong with rough framed opening
Find out how shafted i am come colder months, not money to buy another let alone remove and install another
Becarefull for the buy that you think you are getting
Stick with Master Piece

I ordered this door and was pleasantly surprised that it arrived a week earlier than expected. When I arrived to pick it up, I was surprised to see that the shipping materials were very flimsy. There was no damage to the door, but after reading earlier reviews, I was expecting better packaging.
Installation- I had the door professionally installed. The installers discovered that the door was about 1/2" wider than the opening (side to side). Fortunately, they were able to remove some framing and make it work. There were some earlier reviews about this, but I was told by the measuring team that 72X80 would fit, so I bought the door. It took them about three hours to do even with the modifications that were necessary.
Appearance and Functionality- The door looks and works great. The blinds raise, lower, and tilt very easily with no hanging up. The fact that both doors slide is an added benefit as well. The doors both slide very easily, and the locking mechanisms work well also.
Value- After doing much comparing, I chose this door because it looked like the best value for the money. I am not disappointed. The door is Energy Star rated for the Northern Region and also includes a screen door, normally about a $100.00 upgrade. I am expecting it to be far superior to my old door when winter comes around.

Very happy with this purchase! The door slides smoothly, looks great, and isn't drafty at all. The blinds are great and add the privacy my wife and I were looking for. Install took me about 6 hours and included three trips to the hardware store for additional materials.

We chose this door because of the internal blinds. Our last door (made by farley) opens and closes better seems better quality. The stanley door rolls harder, the screen doesn't fit right but the biggest problem is the black plastic handles on the screen. They hit and interfere with the other door handles to the point where you can not just open and close the glass door without first monkeying around with the screen ( forcing the handles by one another). The general quality seems less, bottom line, if you don't need the blinds buy another door.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and QUALITY from Stanley Doors. We have been trying to resolve problems with this door fogging, heavy duty icing, poor shipping, latch not working, and installation was our responsiblity. This door has to be replaced, but after a year of trying to deal with this, we are heading to the better business bureau. We have 30 year old windows with none of these problems. The sticker on the door can fool you, it says climaguard, how misleading is that? This door should not be available for northern climates. Home Depot should refuse to sell this door.
