Home Depot has NO idea why there are two different listings for the same item. Seems silly to buy both & return one just too see the difference. Please reply with mfg explanation.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not overy impressed Two big problems. 1) The instruction sheet did not match the product. Instructions showed tightening spring using an open end wrench. However product did not have a hex shape, so it was impossible to do what the instructions said. 2) The closer comes with a 3" long metal bar with a "C" shaped hook to grab the barrel and tighten the spring. This does not work. Any tension at all and the hook simply pulls out of the notch. Bar did not allow adequate clearance from door molding to hook it into the closer and turn to the next alignment notch on the closer. And, when the spring end is in the notch you need to hook the bar into, you are stuck. Finally had to use a locking pliers (vice grip) to tighten the spring. Never was able to get it tight enough to actually close the door reliably. Nice idea as it is small and fits in place of a hinge pin, but just doesn't do the trick. July 18, 2013
