This product is very similar to the Everbilt brand sold in stores, however, it has a galvanized finish (which doesn't chip or flake off) and it costs 5 dollars less. These gate latches are great for around the farm jobs because they are very sturdy, much heavier than typical gate latches of this design. I use two of them on each gate (they can be chained or strung together) to hold in cattle. I really like how with a pull chain they are easily opened from both sides and latch automatically. The only thing I don't like about them is the brass pin which holds the latching piece. It is not solid (and it should be). This part is the break-away part so if the latch is under strees the pin breaks and not the latch or the gate its on. But I just think considering how overall sturdy the gate latch is, that this pin should have been solid brass.
