Answer:
US is the standard measure here. Yes, Home Depot does carry a (26 foot?) tape with metric as well on one edge, but this one pictured is inch/feet only. Dual tapes are more common in the Canadian market, at least in eastern Canada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 18 years of finish work, 3500 homes, 400 measurements per, 1.4 millionish total Obviously, this is "back of an envelope " type of math. But, if anything it is well under the true number. The Stanley 25' chrome is the only tape I have use. As a reference, my nickname from other carpenters is "Ronny Rocket". My preferred jobs are mid range new single family homes and require quick in and out. This is the most reliable, durable with the fastest retrieve tape I have found. Infact, thank you Stanley! - Ronny Rocket Brannon, lol

Large numbers, tick marks have great visibility from both sides, and is always accurate right off the shelf. Probably of no concern to a person using 1 tape, but important for calling out numbers to someone else using hopefully a calibrated tape. Most people may need to be so accurate, but I like to measure once and cut once.

In my over 45 Yrs.in the trades I've had my hands on lots of different Tape Measures. For me the ONLY brand I Know will work properly for a LONG time is the "Stanley" 1"x 25'. I don't even have to think about it . Once you own one I doubt you'll ever go back. They are simply the Best. Also @ $9.99 it's like getting a gift. Thank You Home Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I have bought these tape measures for years and they are of good quality will last a long time if you treat them well. The casing is very strong and will take punishment but the tape portion of it is not as strong as a Max. However the body on the max is not always able to withstand the drops seen a normal construction sites.

This particular size of Stanley tape measure is perfect for most every job. The tape is rigid enough to stand up, the housing is not too bulky, and the belt clip works on either a belt or the pocket. One of my favorite tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive and durable My old one lasted 10 years before I accidentally drove over it with my truck. This one...same great quality and a quarter of what I paid for the original one I destroyed. It must cost a lot to put FAT MAX on a tape...regular old Stanley is fine for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always reliable I have never had an issue with a Stanley tape measure, even after dropping them in mud, sand, snow, or from 15 feet in the air - they just keep working. And they are easy to read, even down to the smallest increment (1/32 I believe).
