The barn door was very easy to finish and install. I stained it cherry and used 4 coats of matte urathane. Turned out great. Toughest part was adding the groove to the bottom for the bottom guide.

This is a really nice door. My only issue was in the shipping, due to damage. I had the first door shipped to my local store. There was quite a bit of damage, so I re-ordered and Home Depot gave me free ship to home due to the door being damaged. The second door was shipped to my home. Upon unpackaging the door, there was damage where the straps were and the edges were beat up a bit. I sent it back. The third door came damaged also. I called Home Depot and they gave me 10% off of the door. I had to sand down the damaged areas and poly. This was for a pocket door, so installation wasn't too bad. Overall I am happy with the door.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DB Great door with just the right look!
We wanted a barn door for the opening going into our master bath and ordered this online. I also purchased contemporary stainless steel hardware and love the look of them together. I was going to white wash the door but after seeing it on the wall, I decided to keep it in its natural color. This door is HEAVY but worth every dollar! If you are like me, I always wondered about the bottom of the door and how it doesn't rub up against the baseboard. Well, I found out that they all have a groove cut into the bottom of the door for the tracking device that keeps the door from rubbing at the bottom. Whatever hardware you buy, will come with some type of tracking device. We really like the look of this!

This door is beautiful and adds to our master bedroom. Installing was a bit nerve racking since I am not a pro. With a little thinking and time I did manage and it was worth it.

The door is a wonderful wood, has great character, and characteristics like the knots and grain. I white washed it, as I live in Florida and wanted that drift-woody, beachy look, and that's what I got!! Don't put too much paint or glaze on it as you will cover all the wonderful-ness of the look. I put it on a stainless barn door track, and with the solidness of the door, it took to the sliding very nicely.
My friends think it's "so cool"!! I used it at the kitchen entrance, which comes off the main entrance hallway, just to keep any messy kitchen situations out of sight.... Great value for the quality, and I bought the stainless barn door track system from Home Depot as well...another great value for quality and price point...They were delivered quickly, packed really nicely, and I couldn't be more please.
I will share with you that I looked at many barn doors and tracking systems, for 2 to 3 times the price, and was willing to spend that much more, but you can NOT beat these products. with quality to price point ratio....Thank you Home Depot....

I purchased this door for my master bedroom while remodeling master bath. I had a closet door that kept hitting door, thought a sliding door would fix the problem. It did.. I wanted a more distressed look so I took a hammer, chisel, crow bar (basically anything I could find ) and went to town. Notice up close picture. I had my contractor stain one side and paint the other to go with new white bathroom. We installed a recessed pull to the inside and a rustic handle on the outside. Can't tell you how pleased I am. I also used Home Depot mounting hardware that works great. For about $500 total I got a high quality custom door.
