Answer:
Depending on your opening and if you have any trim, it is about 1-2" gap. There is a bottom groove in the door that fits in a mount for the floor to keep the bottom of the door from being pushed out/open.

The Stevens & Son's 6-Panel Stained Pine Interior Door Slab is not designe to be sound proof, but does block a fair amount of room noise. The door does not mount flush to wall or door opening.

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Install Issues Big problems with installation. The screws that mount the railing were too short. Had to buy longer ones to fit. Beware if going into drywall, the rail is predrilled and you probably will not hit studs. Comes with anchors but the weight of the door causes an unsafe mounting. I ended up drilling more holes in the metal rail to hit studs and mount correctly. Really made for concrete install, but who has concrete walls inside a house? Then realized that the predrilled holes in the door were too low. Even the instructions said 2" gap for rail to fit and they were drilled with 1 1/2" gap. Now i have extra holes! Door is nice, but would pass on this for sure. March 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong installation instructions The door is nice but the installation instructions are wrong. If you predrill 5/16 holes in the backing board as instructed the lag screws will have nothing to grab - the holes are too big. The provided plastic sleeves for the wallboard are useless - the lags just spin in them. They should be ashamed of themselves to provide such poor instructions. May 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product for a Good Price I had this door professionally installed so I can't comment on ease of installation, but the job was done in less than half a day, which I think is pretty quick. The holes weren't perfect, but the installer drilled another hole and cut about 1/4" off the top of the door. The hardware covers up the holes. I'm thinking of buying another door just like it for my bedroom. The door works perfectly. I'm very pleased March 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased with this product I am an intermediate skill level homeowner and installed this with my wife's assistance in a few hours. This would have been quicker, but I wanted to cut the heighth of the door down and took my time measuring and clamping a guide for my skillsaw. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a reasonable amount of experience doing home repairs. March 28, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good value but damaged I ordered online for store pickup. Door was damaged on the bottom corner with a 2" x 2" section of the veneer chipped off and an 8" long scratch. HD agreed to discount the door or I could re-order. Not wanting to wait another 2 to 4 weeks for a replacement, I took the discount. I had ordered a total of 10 different doors and didn't get to installing this one until a few days later. Guess what? More damage. 3 - 4" scratches on each side of the door on the stiles - which appeared to be caused by the packaging, and bulging 3" x 3" section right in the center of the door where it looked like the laminated veneer separated on the inside. Wanted to take back but the expense of returning (I had hired a service to pick up and deliver all of the doors as I don't have a truck) - paying the guys to take it back, and then again waiting to get a replacement was too much hassle. So I kept it. Installation was fairly easy, I only had to trim about 3/8" off the top for the mounting hardware to not contact the ceiling. Other than trimming the door installed fairly quickly. Aside from the damages the door looks good. I would be happy with the door if I didn't now have to sand, re-stain and re-varnish the door to fix it. April 14, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Predrilled holes were in the wrong place The pre-drilled holes were too low (making the door hang too high) and slightly too close together. This made for an installation nightmare and required time consuming retrofitting measures. Other than that, the hardware was very nice. Strong, sturdy, solid. Door was nice as well. December 25, 2014
