left-hand outswing?

I want to purchase these doors to replace existing french doors. I want to be sure I get the correct swing. When I'm standing outside the house, facing the doors, the door on the right opens to the outside. Is this a left-handed outswing? Also can both doors be opened at the same time?
Asked by: Bobby
You do need left swing.

What mechanism is used to keep the fixed door closed?

The top bolt on the cheap one I ordered now falls out of the hole in the top plate after a few weeks of the movable door operating. I know: the bad taste of poor quality last a lot longer than the sweet taste of a low price.
Asked by: OldSchoolBuilder
We use the AFCO brand for our flush bolts. Most flush bolts have a tensioner in them and yes unfortunately sometimes the let loose. If you purchased our door you can visit your local home depot and explain the issue they can contact us and we can get the problem resolved.

Mild issue with cross-framing of windows--top bars are a wee bit too long, maybe. Looks like they bow downwards in the middle of their spans. Could be optical illusion; hard to measure for flatness without 90 degree long angle tool. Make sure you have the right orientation for ordering door knob holes and swing direction--I did and time spent was well worth it. Example: "Right-Hand Inswing Mini Blind Patio Door" picture is what you see from the outside looking into the house.

The doors came used, i.e., somebody already installed them and returned them scratched. The plastic molding that holds the glass came cracked on one door (out of two). The quality of the door is also below my expectations. The hinges were already installed on the frame and were uneven in depth, making it very hard to install the doors. If I didn't have to worry about losing two months, I would return them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice looking door The door is very nice, I have three things I would like changed. One the threshold is backward for an outward opening door and seems like the only flipped the doors. Two the threshold is held in place on both ends by two staples, when I received mine one side was pulled out and I repaired it with a long screw as it should have been. the last and final issue has nothing to do with the door construction but delivery, I nor my wife received a call that the delivery was coming out on the day it arrived luckily she was going in late on the day it arrived. they sent one guy who struggled with my wife's help to get it up the driveway and once the door was off the palate jack he was gone in about 2 minutes not allowing proper inspection before his departure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from For the price I spent, these doors are NOT what I expected We ordered out swinging doors and all they did was reverse the hinges. The EXTERIOR threshold now sits on the interior of the house. It looks atrocious. Plus there is no threshold for the exterior and we need to go out and buy flashing for it. The doors don't hang right and the screws on the side of the door won't screw in all the way so the door sticks every time you open or close it. It also looks cheap. Very unhappy. Had I known this, I would have spend more for a Pella or Anderson. Never again will I buy a Home Depot product! I wish I could go back in time and cancel this order!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs improvements Their were no printed instruction included. One month after installation the hinges are rusting and water seeps in from the outside to the inside around the blind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Door Quality door frame was square and door was shipped in excellent packing material no surprises the blinds work well and are easy to operate. The only issue we has was with the threshold delivery service, the shipping company only sent one person and the door had to be removed from the packing material to get into the house if you have an exterior garage this would not be an issue we only had a carport and wanted door out of the elements until installation date. Over all this was a great experience and we are very happy with the results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Air and Water Infiltration But No Service From Andersen I purchased three very expensive Andersen Eagle patio doors. All have bad air infiltration and water under the fixed panels into the threshold. Andersen will not even send a rep out to examine the doors. The build quality is terrible with big gaps in the aluminum cladding on the exteriors, air infiltration between the fixed and sliding panels, sloppy application of adhesives, incomplete installation hardware, and worst of all, Andersen refuses to do anything about it. They won't even send a rep out to look at the doors. I have since talked to an insurance agent who tells me that her contractor clients all have terrible things to say about Andersen windows. If you choose to buy any product by Andersen do not expect your experience to by any different than mine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looking doors They look good and do what I want them for the only problem I had was getting them shimmed so that both shut good and line up. The blinds work and look great.
