Product Overview

DHC tankless water heaters are ideal for residential and commercial point-of-use sink applications including: bathrooms, cabins and cottages, office buildings, stores, malls, warehouses, restaurants, and gas stations. They heat water instantaneously and endlessly at 99% efficiency as it flows through the unit. Because they do not store hot water like tank water heaters, they have no stand-by energy losses. Venting is not necessary and the compact European design can be installed with the unit visible. The hot water temperature delivered by a DHC depends on the incoming cold water temperature, the flow rate through the unit, and the size of the DHC model. They excel at supplying water at a constant temperature but the model must be carefully matched to the flow rate of the sink to operate properly. Refer to the DHC Sizing Guide to determine which model you need. Call Stiebel Eltron at 800.582.8423 with any questions. Stiebel Eltron invented tankless electric water heating technology more than 90 years ago, and is still the industry pioneer and world leader today, with an engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as described, meets my needs I used this at a handwashing sink in my workshop. The 4800 Watt heater raises incoming water temperature about 40-44 degrees F at the flow that I use, which is consistent with the manufacturer's specifications, which are available as a pdf file from the Home Depot page describing the product. Note that this termperature rise will -just- reach 100F when incoming water temperature is about 55F. It's fine for making handwashing comfortable, but you would need a bigger heater if you want hotter water or larger flow rate. The compact size of this heater makes installation easy, and there is no plumbing code requirement for an added expansion tank, as is required for tank-type water heaters. September 2, 2015
