Product Overview

DHC tankless water heaters are ideal for residential and commercial point-of-use sink applications including: bathrooms, cabins and cottages, office buildings, stores, malls, warehouses, restaurants, and gas stations. They heat water instantaneously and endlessly at 99% efficiency as it flows through the unit. Because they do not store hot water like tank water heaters, they have no stand-by energy losses. Venting is not necessary and the compact European design can be installed with the unit visible. The hot water temperature delivered by a DHC depends on the incoming cold water temperature, the flow rate through the unit, and the size of the DHC model. They excel at supplying water at a constant temperature but the model must be carefully matched to the flow rate of the sink to operate properly. Refer to the DHC Sizing Guide to determine which model you need. Call Stiebel Eltron at 800.582.8423 with any questions. Stiebel Eltron invented tankless electric water heating technology more than 90 years ago, and is still the industry pioneer and world leader today, with an engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence.

Customer Questions & Answers

Will this unit function well in a 1920 as ft home

Asked by: carl
Depends on where you want the hot water. It'll probably only supply enough hot water for one faucet. I doubt it'll work with a higher demand shower or tub. Stiebel makes other higher capacity on-demand heaters that will work. Just make sure your wiring and circuit breaker are rated for the amperage of the water heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality water heater I bought this water heater for our rental and it worked flawlessly from the start. It's a bit tricky to install under a kitchen sink, but that's not really the fault of the heater. Adjusting the temperature requires removing the cover (while lying under the sink) and turning a hex screw to adjust the flow rate up or down. Would be a lot easier if this could be done with, say a screw driver without having to remove the cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works much better than other product I purchased This was the second tankless heater i purchased, replacing one that did not heat at all. This product heats a sink quite well, was easy to install, and looks good enough you dont have to hide it in a cabinet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Dissapointing I bought this to heat water for a single sink in my workshop. I installed it on a dedicated 240V 30A circuit. It barely heats the water at all. It's a shame because the unit is well made and looks nice. There are some instructions for reducing the water flow to increase the temperature, but even at low flow rates it does not get hot. It's OK if you just need arm water for washing your hands etc (As I do) but as a hot water source it's more or less useless.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works, but know its limits The product itself is of high quality and easily installed. Its impartant to realize this product will only perform (as pointed out in other posts and in the instructions) as well as the water you are supplying to it. In a nut shell, it heats water 35-40 degrees, period. You can increase that a little bit by choking the flow, but if you are in a cold reagon, say a cold garage where the water is coming into the unit at 40-45 degrees; you are going to get 70-75 degrees water at the sink. I guess you could say its Seasonably Sensitive... It will work for washing hands and such in the winter, and of course in the warmer months it will be quite functional as a hot water source.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Second one in 3years This is the second heater we buy in 3years, exactly when the warranty expires it broke down and we had to get another one, the electrician came and changed it easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from False Advertising I bought this unit, hoping that I could use it for one sink in a bathroom. After reading the manufactures claims, had they been true, which they are not I would have been pleased, but this unit is useless. After installing, using 10/2 wire on a 30 amp 220V dedicated circuit, letting it burn in for half an hour the water temp on full hot was barely just past warm. After turning down the flow setting all the way until the water was just coming out almost a trickle the water temp was no better. This thing was a waste of my time and now I'm taking it out and returning it. If you want to spend 200 bucks and have water trickle out at 85 degrees go for it, if you need HOT water do not buy this product, it is a totally useless piece. I will never buy another product from this company.
