Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jaydude works great! Serious pain to set up!
Bought for bathroom sink farthest from water heater. It used to take literally over 5 minutes to get warm water to this sink, this unit fixed the problem perfectly! That said, now the bad part, The mini 3 requires a dedicated 30 Amp circuit so, had to run a new circuit with 10 gage wire from a new 30 amp GFI breaker in box, to comply with power switch in sight codes, I had to use a 30 Amp on/off switch near the heater which is perfect anyway because it not only provides the junction point, but also allows you to turn heater off if you have it on so long that the already heated water arrives. This is where it really got interesting however, because it is a 120 volt single phase circuit yet the color of the wires from heater were black, brown, and green with yellow banding. I am a professional technician, therefore I already knew the green is ground. The manual does NOT reference the wire colors and it incorrectly showed the order of wires on the diagram as Line, Neutral, then Ground, side by side in that order. When you actually open the unit it shows the Neutral, Line, then Ground labeled on the unit! I was able to follow the circuits and determine that the labeling on the heater is correct and manual is wrong, therefore (and this is critical if you expect the unit to function properly) the BROWN wire is the Line, the BLACK wire is the neutral and, as I previously mentioned, the GREEN wire is the ground. I hope this info will save others from a lot of wasted time trying to get the info from the internet which had absolutely no help for the color codes. The best I can guess is the German Engineering inspired to EU standard Brown colored Line wire, I am clueless why some Einstein decided to make the neutral BLACK! It was a pain for me because I had already placed the box inside sink cabinet and attached water lines by the time I discovered the issue with the wires and it was a REAL pain in the rear to open box though ultimately I ended up having to anyway to determine the Line circuit to complete the installation. Having gone through all this fun, I must say it works awesomely! Good Luck!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bintherdunit Luke warm at a weak flow
Product provides the bare minimum of a weak flow of water at a luke warm temperature. It is strictly for a hand wash station. You have to install the flow restrictor which provides a very weak flow similar to public restrooms. To be fair, our water intake (industrial setting) is probably in the mid 30 degree F range. Recommendation would be to go to a larger heating capacity/flow. The unit itself seems put together ok, just provides very little warm (not hot) water. If you use a moderate flow of water, the temperature is still cold.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Billybob68 Big mistake
The advertised item was not what it advertised to be. We purchased it for heating water under our kitchen sink, because it takes forever to get hot water from the water heater. But, when my husband called customer service about how to install it (because the instructions included were inadequate), they said it was not meant for our purpose...so, we had to return it. Waste of time and money!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pops Not much bang for the buck
Requires a separate 30 amp breaker. At 3.0KW I expected a little more hot water than the unit puts out. You have to severely restrict your water flow just to get enough warm water to wash your hands. I am not even certain why they put scald warnings on this thing. Aside from having to run a dedicated circuit to the unit, the rest of the installation is a snap. I am using this as a point of use water heater for a spare bathroom sink on the far end of my house.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Whatever Very statisfied customer of this product
When I purchased this product it was directly from the company so I am glad to see Home Depot selling it now. It was built solid with all metal copper parts. It was not hard to install if you are able to do basic plumbing and electrical work. About a year ago I had to replace one of the units inside due to my fault not the companies. Replacing the broken unit was very easy. I just disconnected the plumbing and electrical wires and the broken unit just unplugged and I plugged in the new unit and reconnected everything. I felt it was really designed well. As with all tankless water heaters you must get the size you need. I have a three unit heater and it gets the water really hot but unable to a shower and wash the dishes at the same time. I wish I had gotten the larger unit. One last thing is that when I have called the company they have always been very friendly and helpful.

Had it installed by a professional handyman and installation was easy. The warm water is very intermittent and does not stay warm long. I expected it to be a little warmer and more consistent. Would not recommend.

I purchased this product for my pottery studio. The water only gets luke warm, which is OK for my needs, but if I had purchased it to work in my home I would have returned it. You have to put a regulator on the faucet which reduces the water flow to allow the water to heat sufficiently, so now I have a slower stream of water that doesn't get very hot.
