Stiebel Eltron developed tankless electric water heating technology almost 90 years ago and continues as the industry pioneer and world leader. Our engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence means you can depend on the performance and reliability of our products. Instead of storing hot water, Mini Series models are tankless, heating water instantaneously and endlessly as it flows through the unit. They are 99% efficient, and, unlike tank-type water heaters, have no stand-by energy losses. No venting is necessary, and the sleek, super-compact design even allows for installation with the unit visible. Mini models are ideal for residential and commercial point-of-use hand-washing sink applications including: bathrooms, cabins and cottages, office buildings, stores, malls, warehouses, restaurants, and gas stations. Mini models are sized based on the flow rate of the sink you are plumbing for hot water. The temperature of the hot water delivered by a Mini depends on the temperature of the incoming cold water, the water flow through the unit, and the size of the Mini model that is installed. Mini models excel at supplying water at a constant temperature rise but must be carefully matched to the application in order to operate properly. Refer to the Mini Sizing Guide and Temperature Rise Chart under 'More Views' to determine which model you need. Call Stiebel Eltron at 800.582.8423 if you have any sizing questions.

  • Professional installation recommended
  • Mini 3 tankless electric water heaters are designed to provide warm water around 90 to 100 degrees F for hand washing at 1 standard flow (0.5 gpm) sink
  • Mini 3 models require 120 volt electric service, 1 dedicated 30 amp breaker, and 10 gauge copper wiring
  • Mini 3 models are shipped with 0.5 gpm pressure compensating flow reducer/aerators that fit on most faucets and should be installed
  • The Nichrome (nickel-chromium) bare-wire heating element in all Mini Series models is controlled by a flow switch to prevent dry-firing and failure, and is additionally equipped with a safety high-limit with manual reset
  • Mini Series tankless water heaters were meticulously engineered in Germany and are manufactured in the US with great care and with the best available materials to provide years of trouble-free service
  • Installation should be as close to your draw off point as possible to make the wait for hot water as short as possible and maximize energy savings
  • Mini tankless electric water heaters do not need pressure relief valves, drains, or circulating pumps
  • The super-compact design is considerably smaller than even a mini-tank, saving space and allowing flexibility to determine the best location for installation
  • Mini tankless electric water heaters are exempt from seismic code and must be installed vertically with the water fittings pointing either up or down
  • Mini tankless water heaters are ETL Listed for compliance with CSA and UL safety standards in the US and Canada
  • See warranty for complete details of the 3-year residential and commercial warranty against defects in workmanship and materials under normal use

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great! Serious pain to set up! Bought for bathroom sink farthest from water heater. It used to take literally over 5 minutes to get warm water to this sink, this unit fixed the problem perfectly! That said, now the bad part, The mini 3 requires a dedicated 30 Amp circuit so, had to run a new circuit with 10 gage wire from a new 30 amp GFI breaker in box, to comply with power switch in sight codes, I had to use a 30 Amp on/off switch near the heater which is perfect anyway because it not only provides the junction point, but also allows you to turn heater off if you have it on so long that the already heated water arrives. This is where it really got interesting however, because it is a 120 volt single phase circuit yet the color of the wires from heater were black, brown, and green with yellow banding. I am a professional technician, therefore I already knew the green is ground. The manual does NOT reference the wire colors and it incorrectly showed the order of wires on the diagram as Line, Neutral, then Ground, side by side in that order. When you actually open the unit it shows the Neutral, Line, then Ground labeled on the unit! I was able to follow the circuits and determine that the labeling on the heater is correct and manual is wrong, therefore (and this is critical if you expect the unit to function properly) the BROWN wire is the Line, the BLACK wire is the neutral and, as I previously mentioned, the GREEN wire is the ground. I hope this info will save others from a lot of wasted time trying to get the info from the internet which had absolutely no help for the color codes. The best I can guess is the German Engineering inspired to EU standard Brown colored Line wire, I am clueless why some Einstein decided to make the neutral BLACK! It was a pain for me because I had already placed the box inside sink cabinet and attached water lines by the time I discovered the issue with the wires and it was a REAL pain in the rear to open box though ultimately I ended up having to anyway to determine the Line circuit to complete the installation. Having gone through all this fun, I must say it works awesomely! Good Luck! February 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does its job well I installed this unit in my guest bathroom where getting hot water was an interminable wait, which wasted water as well. It was relatively easy to install and hook up, though working under the sink is a pain! I had to have an electrician run an outlet circuit first. The rest of my house is on a tankless heater, so this just runs downstream. Simple solution to an age old problem. July 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Eltron mini 30.5 gpm tankless water heater the tankless water heater works great and gives out just the right amount of water for a 15 minute to 20 minute shower :) was easy to install . had to buy a coupler but other than that it is a good products :) May 21, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Big mistake The advertised item was not what it advertised to be. We purchased it for heating water under our kitchen sink, because it takes forever to get hot water from the water heater. But, when my husband called customer service about how to install it (because the instructions included were inadequate), they said it was not meant for our, we had to return it. Waste of time and money! September 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Somewhat disappointed I purchased this product for my pottery studio. The water only gets luke warm, which is OK for my needs, but if I had purchased it to work in my home I would have returned it. You have to put a regulator on the faucet which reduces the water flow to allow the water to heat sufficiently, so now I have a slower stream of water that doesn't get very hot. January 28, 2014
