Product Overview

Powerful output, compact design, remarkable energy-saving features! Our whole house electric tankless water heaters perform with the highest standards for comfort and reliability. Tempra Plus models feature Advanced Flow Control, exclusive to Stiebel Eltron tankless heaters. If hot water demand exceeds unit’s working capacity, Advanced Flow Control automatically maintains consistent temperatures by slightly reducing flow. Intelligent self-modulating technology continually ensures the least amount of energy is used to heat the water. The Tempra 12 Plus provides hot water at a consistent temperature for 1 bathroom in warm climates and for 1 bathroom at a cabin or cottage in cold climates. See sizing guide to determine which model is best for you (guide assumes 2 GPM or less per shower-head). Stiebel Eltron invented tankless electric water heating technology more than 90 years ago, and is still the industry pioneer and world leader. Our engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence means you can depend on the performance and reliability of our products. Call Stiebel Eltron at 800-582-8423 if you have high flow showers or any sizing questions.

Customer Questions & Answers

Are units appropriate for mobile or prefeb homes?

I have a double wide mobile home with 2 baths. Need info on replace a water heater tank.
Asked by: Babsy49
Most Mobile homes don't have a large enough breaker box, but if you do it shouldn't be a problem to go inside a mobile/prefab home. New larger wires would need to be ran and a larger breaker required because this pulls more current (amps) than a tank water heater.

Tempra 12 Plus Advanced Flow Control and Self-Modulating 12 kW 2.34 GPM Electric Tankless Water Heater is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.

MY city uses surface water which gets down to 40 to 50 during December to March, so the heater won't heat enough for a comfortable shower. I knew this before hand and placed another connection for a smaller 30 amp heater to increase 10 to 15 degrees and let this heater make up the rest. The smaller heater is on a switch, so I turn it off in april and turn it back on in November. The Heater does a great job at choking down the water if it can't meet the set temperature at full flow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Eltron Tempra 12 review I purchased this product online from homedepot.ca. While the savings in space and electricity are an advantage unfortunately the tank less water heater reduces the water pressure drastically to heat it up. I am not sure if this is just a "Eltron Tempra 12 plus" problem or if this is something that happens with all tankless water heaters. If I cant figure this out I might have to go back to a regular water heater. The pressure gets so low that showering takes forever . I will be contacting the company to arrange for return or exchange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am very happy with the product, now I have so much room in the garage I am so glad I got ready of the old huge tank I had , I am very happy with the tankless heater, I have no problems with the hot water. My house is a 5 BR and 4 baths, and I always have hot water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works good even though I have low water pressure. I installed a Rheem RTE13 and the water pressure wasn't enough to activate the heater when the vanity faucet was on. The shower worked good, but then the water ran cold once. I tried to test the electrical board to see if I could modify it, and accidentally blew it out (my own fault) then I found out that they don't sell parts for the Rheem. No more Rheem for me. So I bought this Tempra 12. It works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, great alternative for a water heating system... Quiet, good looking, space saving and very efficient. Well worth the cost to change-over from bulky water heater tank system to tankless. CL - Florida Keys
