I see a review that filling a tub does not work well?

I am considering using this for a small, 504 sq ft cabin in which I will have a shower, sink, and an ALMOST full size tub. As well as kitchen sink. That is it.Oklahoma weather and well water, and the kitchen and bathroom very close together and close to where this device will be installed. Anyone know if I should still have problem running a full, hot bath? Suggestions for better winter use?
Asked by: tmills
You will have to slow the flow to maintain the temperature depending on the temp of the water coming into the unit. A tub faucet runs around 3-5 gallons per minute but the heater may only put out 1 and a half per minute at 110 degrees. I is suggested that you get 2 of these units to keep up to the volume of a tub. What is really cool is that there a red indicator light in the unit that tells you if the unit is keeping up. If it is blinking it is not keeping up. I turned on the shower and kitchen sink at the same time. Then I turned the hot shutoff down on the sink until the light in the unit stopped blinking. I am restricted slightly at the kitchen faucet but at least if someone is washing dishes while someone is in the shower there won't be any screams. I have a small cabin also. I don't think you have much of a winter down by you but you will notice the difference of output if the well water is colder. Our well water temp is around 50 degrees maybe 55 in the summer.

So what is the major difference between the Tempra 12 and the DHC-E 12 12.0 kW 2.34 GPM??????

So what is the major difference between the Tempra 12 and the DHC-E 12 12.0 kW 2.34 GPM??????
Asked by: mer
Both units produce the same amount of hot water as both are 12KW. The major difference is the size of the unit. The DHC-E is smaller that the Tempra 12 making it easier to fit into smaller locations if need be.

specification error

Specifications provide lower flow for 35 F rise than for 45 F rise - this is clearly wrong. What are the correct flow rates? Flow Rate @ 35 F Rise (gallons/min) 1.82 Flow Rate @ 45 F Rise (gallons/min) 2.34 Flow Rate @ 55 F Rise (gallons/min) 1.49
Asked by: Strider22
Here are the flow rates based on the Temp Rises cited above for the Tempra 12 or Tempra 12 Plus: 35 F Rise 2.3 gpm 45 F Rise 1.8 gpm 55 F Rise 1.5 gpm Assumption: you are connecting at 240 V

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install. Provides ample hotwater and does not use electircity all the time to keep your water hot in a tank. This was my first tankless hotwater heater and found it easy to install. I have it set at 126 degrees so I can cut it back with cold water. I have a long run (53 ft) from one end of the house to the other so I purchase a second hotwater to eliminate the long wait for the hot water to reach the kitchen and guest bath. The thing to keep in mind is that it will put out 2.3 gal per min. If you are demanding more, the flow is cut back because it only has the set amount of 2.3 gal per min. If you are on a well, I would recommend some type of filter in your water line before it reaches your heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very simple, efficient for low-altitude cities I've never installed a water heater before, and was able to do it in a couple hours. Installation is fast and simple, and I ended up with no leaks and a cheap, endless supply of hot water. I would strongly recommend it as a replacement for your 30-40 gallon tank

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this tempra has saved me so much money on my electric as well as my oil bill I had no clue how much money this small product would save me! until I got my electric bill. Then not needing to call for oil to heat my water was a dream come true. IT WORKS<< WAY Beyond what is advertised, a must to own and simple to install. your a winner in my book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for limited space Was not very hard to install. The flow of hot water seems to be enough for showering. We have a 1200 sq ft 2nd home with 1 shower and more than likely not run washer and dishwasher at same time. Not sure on the light bill yet. We also put a filter system in because it was recomended with well water. Works great for our needs.
