Answer:
Yes...I have one in the garage and one in the house. I have the one in the house sitting on a paper plate that you just throw in the garbage once in a while. The one in the garage is hanging and I taped a coffee filter to the bottom, so you just have to throw it away once every few months and tape on a new one. Cheap disposable bug carcass catchers!!!

While, it's not recommended, it probably could be used indoors, because it does not cause bugs to explode or pop. They are simply slowly electrocuted and dehydrate.

well, I use mine inside the garage. Note there is no "catch basin" so dead bugs fall on the floor. Not a big problem in the garage, but I wouldn't want that inside the living space.

Answer:
I use mine in the garage. I did put it in the house first to get rid of a couple mosquitos in there. Most don't suggest using them indoors maybe because of kids sticking items in it or pets knocking it over. If you do use it indoors make sure you put it out of reach of pets and children.

I used my bug zapper indoors with no problem. No smell. Mine is a quiet unit the ones that "ZAP" may become annoying inside. Also keep in consideration the UV light. Mine is in the basement so there is no annoying light and actually find the light helpful in the basement.

Answer:
With any bug zapper, the ratings are based on visibility of the zapper to the bugs. My property is only an 8000 sq foot lot, but with all the building it would require at least 3 zappers of this size to keep the property clean even though they are rating for over an acre. Look for an LED design, CF is a dead expensive technology.

Home Depot usually has a supply of replacement bulbs. But I have found that about the time you need a replacement bulb the unit itself is worn out. So it might make more sense to just buy a new unit.

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 122 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does The Job Bought this last minute on the 4th of July because we were sick of getting eaten alive during our fireworks show. We had it plugged in from 6pm-10pm in a residential area/housing development and it was caked in mosquitoes by the end of the night. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product My wife and I have been getting nailed with mosquitoes both on our deck and by our fire pit as we're right next to a huge forest. Tried this product out last night and never got stung once while at the bonfire all night and came to check on the lamp and there were at least 100 killed mosquitoes and it was awesome. Terrific product. July 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money. Didn't kill anything and the lures don't work either. June 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for urban decks/patios I love this zapper! I live in Chicago and used to get eaten by tons on mosquitos while out enjoying my deck. This zapper has stopped that. It's super quiet and not overly brightly lit, it does a great job! June 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work well. Don't like it. I've been using this a couple of year. It runs quietly and you don't hear the zap, but you need to use lures with it and it's not very efficient on killing bugs at all. I'm used to the old zappers that you can hear without a lure. I'm looking for a better zapper. This one is a waste of time. June 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste Don't waste your money on this, spend the extra $20.00 & get a different zapper, I bought two of these zappers & one gave up the ghost after 7 mos, & the other just after 3 days, going to return the 2nd one & buy a better zapper... May 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by More juice I bought this mainly for entertainment in my garage but also wanted it to work. It attracts and stuns them, before long I had a pile of bugs on the floor but then noticed they were only temporarily stunned then started to crawl and fly away. NEED MORE POWER! March 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wrors Better than I thought it would I'm use to having the 1970's model where you hear and see the bugs getting fried in it. Wasn't very interested in this model becuase of the low reviews it is getting. I bought one anyway with little expectation. I put it in the garage to kill mosquitos while I'm working in it. It didn't kill much the first night. The second night left a small piles of bugs. The third night it killed more bugs and some flies. So right now I'm surprisingly happy with it. I'm not getting bit while standing at my workbench. I still miss the noise and visuals that the old models had, but if the results are not bugs then I'm happy with it. The cons I put aren't really cons just thing I missed from the old models. June 15, 2014
