Crack-Tape repairs difficult cracks on flat surfaces and corners. Ten times stronger than paper tape, the tape repairs stress cracks and cracks due to truss uplifts. Crack-Tape cuts easily with a utility knife or scissors, but also resists blisters, tears, shrinkage, and wrinkles. Manufactured from Strait-Flex's patented composite material, it can be used for finishing drywall in high humidity applications. To apply, measure and cut to length, then fold in half for corners. Apply all-purpose compound to surface or corner. Press Crack-Tape into the wet compound, adjust to create a straight line, and wipe down with a taping knife. A second coat can be applied immediately. Let dry. Apply a light skim coat, let dry, and sand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Worked wonderfully Easier to work with than traditional fiberglass tape......could get a very flat joint quite easily. October 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to work I rarely use ordinary paper tape these days, preferring mesh tape for my projects so thought I'd try Strait-Flex's Crack-Tape. The product is thicker than mesh and the box reads is ten times stronger than paper or mesh tape. Its a composite material with a slight textured feel. Its also scored down the middle for using in corners. The advantage of the product is it allows you to apply the skim coat immediately after affixing it to the wall after first laying a bed of joint compound to hold it. Its strength is really ideal for persistent stress crack applications. I applied it to an inside closet corner crack that refused to stay closed. No problems, went up the same way mesh tape would and the stiffness kept it from scrunching up as can happen with mesh or paper. The compound squeezes up from the holes in the tape to give a secure bond. Here I was only trying to cover the crack inside the closet not looking for pretty, but it set up nicely. Well see if it holds, but it does seem stronger. September 29, 2014
