PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Model # 00102

The STRIKER Score allows easy scoring and snapping of a variety of materials, and is the preferred, safe method for cutting carcinogenic fiber cement backer board (Hardie Board). The Striker Score features a sharp v-shaped carbide scoring tip designed to scribe deep and wide cuts with minimal force into fiber cement siding, backer board, roofing, linoleum, laminates, plastics, and glass. Though it won't replace gang cuts of siding with saws, by using the Striker Score, contractors and installers can safely cut fiber cement indoors and in tight or remote areas, such as on scaffolding, without creating dangerous dust. Additional features include a crosscut file located along both sides of the hardened steel blade, allowing the user to smooth out any rough edges, and often eliminating the need to pull out a file or rasp. Serrations along the blades top edge create a notching saw that makes quick work when cleaning out corners around plumbing, junction boxes, and HVAC openings. The tool also features a striking cap at the end of its sleek, ultra-light aluminum handle that acts like a hammer to allow the user to knock out cut pieces and set siding nails to the correct depth. The folding blade and removable pocket clip means the tool fits easily on a belt or in a pocket or pouch. The Striker Score also has a thumb stud to safely open and close the blade, and a spring steel lock to securely lock the blade open and folds completely inside the body of the tool when closed.

  • Durable V-shaped T-90 carbide scoring tip stay sharp and makes deep wide cuts into cement board

  • Notching saw to make sharp right angles around cupboards or outlet boxes
  • Striking cap to set nail pops
  • Ultralight aluminum ergonomic handle
  • Folding blade for safe storage in tool bag or pocket

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Tool! Don't buy anything else for cutting cement board! It reduces the dust (which is murder to your throat and lungs), cuts quickly, and has a saw, scoring edge, cutting edge, a rasp and a striker on the end. Before I bought this tool I spent almost $100 on tools and blades to cut the tile backer board for my shower repair. After banging my head against a brick wall, I did the research and this little gadget outshone its competitors. For less than $20, problem solved. Whatever you do, don't use a saw on that stuff--you will billow dust like no one's business and create a burning stink. March 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick, clean, snap cuts on fiber cement siding With front and back scores, the tool produced fairly clean snap cuts on 5 1/4 inch fiber siding; the attached file readily cleaned any rough edges. Wider boards may be a bit tougher. The scribe is holding up well; the file has lost some of its bite after 5 squares of siding. September 18, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding. By far the best tool in the bucket for fiber cement. I did a kitchen in as little time as it took to do the same kitchen (double unit) with a powertool for cutting cementboard - no dust or mess. Just as if I was working with drywall boards. Perfect tool. Buy it. June 7, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as 'easy' to use as advertised. Product does score cement board, etc. buy in order to 'break' the item you must score 15-20 times. Even then the break is not clean and filing takes along time. NOT A TIME SAVER!! September 20, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product too high of cost I would recommend it to anyone but it is pricy for what it is and does. The folding feature prevents from nicking tip and it can be sharpened. Good product but expensive for what it does. October 11, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tool I've been working on residding my home and this tool has been a great asset. Must have. October 4, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Worked great at scoring my Hardie plank siding. Good price. October 15, 2011
