Wife and I just had our first child and we needed a gate to keep the dogs, and their smell, out of the nursery. We purchased this gate because the price was reasonable and the option to install using tension allows us to remove it and reuse it in our new home without having to patch drywall etc. The gate closes easily on its own and is very secure even when our Great Dane jumps up on it. The only complaint i have is that if you let the gate close on its own it slams shut very loudly, some sort of buffer or rubber gasket would be a great addition.

We bought the gate to restrict our new lab puppy to the kitchen. It replaced an older, plastic, removable, baby gate that we'd had for years that had seen its better days. Four year olds can be hard on things! Installation was simple with the extra inserts to widen the gate assembly to fit your specific installation.
Adjustment of the tension on the swing gate is pretty easy. It does take a little practice to operate the swing-gate with one hand since there is a slide-button on the main outer frame that you need to activate before the gate can be lifted and opened.
We chose to install the gate with the tension pads to wedge-mount the gate into a door opening. This mounting configuration will slip around a bit especially when the gate is allowed to slam closed from the fully open position. It requires a weekly readjustment to keep the gate working freely and latching closed properly, but that takes all of about 30 seconds. It comes with a set of permanent mounts too should you desire a hard-mount solution. These require drilling and mounting of surface mounted pads that the gate frame assembly attaches to. For our purposes of puppy containment, we used the tension pad mounting option which was simple and easy to install..
Note that the gate only swings open in one direction and stops after it opens 90 degrees. It is spring loaded so it automatically closes when you release the gate. To get it to open the opposite direction, you would need to rotate the entire gate assembly 180 degrees if you want the door to open the opposite direction, but you will have to settle for the right, or left-hand, swing direction of the gate opening because it isn't reversible.

The auto lock feature doesn't work and is very loud. It also only opens in one direction. Not worth the money.

When we got our new puppy, it became evident quite quickly that we weren't up to stepping over the baby gate going in and out of the kitchen with her as we had done when training our previous dog. I searched the internet and found this gate and it was available at Home Depot. The directions were great and the install easy. Plus, the vertical bars prevent the puppy from trying to climb over. We couldn't be happier.

We mounted the gate in our hall to keep our dog off the carpet. It works fine and is very sturdy. The only issue is the spring that is used keep downward pressure on the gate and also closes the gate is very strong, and was difficult for my wife to raise. I dismantled the gate and shortened the spring. Now she has no problems with it.
