This is basically the only refrigerator that fits my 1940-50's kitchen space and it should be flying off the shelves. The delivery guy said he'd never seen one like this but wished it was available when he last replaced his fridge. I bought this on-line and after some finagling, got the local store to deliver. It more than meets my needs. I didn't get the ice maker. The freezer section comes with a shallow "ice bank" shelf with two ice trays and space for stored cubes but little else. The other 3 freezer drawers need some getting used to while the tall upper fridge is excellent. If you freeze a lot of seasonal veggies or whole turkeys & such, you will need a separate freezer. The unit works on an evaporator system so there are coils on the outside and water driplets going down the inside back wall but nothing extraordinary. So many people seem to be looking for a SILENT refrigerator so let me tell you, this one is not silent but the first night after I hooked it up it was so quiet I actually got out of bed to make sure it was still functioning. The compressor makes a reasonable amount of noise but when the compressor is off it is basically noiseless. In any event I can't hear it outside the kitchen, and the furnace drowns it out completely. Twice in two weeks I heard an amusing gurgling sound like the unit had the tummy rumbles, but you won't notice unless you are looking for it. I have yet to hear the *crack* sound described in the written materials. My last monthly power bill was 37 kwh lower than last year, including 10 days with no fridge at all so I think the efficiency ratings on this unit are accurate if not underestimated. The cubic footage is a lot smaller than my old Kenmore, but this seems to hold more. Everything is visible & reachable and the wine rack is surprisingly versatile. You won't go wrong with this fridge.

I love this refrigerator! I purchased this over a year ago when we remodeled our kitchen. We have an old house and small space and the "traditional" refrigerators were too large for what I wanted and I really wanted a bottom freezer 'modern' unit. While everyone initially cringes at the idea of only 13 cubic feet it stores everything we have and then some! My husband still can't find what he is looking for in the fridge! We are a family of 3 adults and find nothing lacking. I had originally read reviews that it was a loud machine but ignored it...and am I glad I did! Changing the door swing wasn't difficult at all. And it looks so sleek that everyone who walks into the kitchen comments on it. Best investment I've made in years!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dpow great product
if the depth of your refrigerator space is an issue, this is a fantastic solution to having a specific need. i would recommend a good night rest and a tranquilizer instead of morning coffee if you need to change the direction the doors swing, i see why they charge so much for this service- they deserve every bit of price on this product. this runs very little, functional, and of course not for family larger than 3-4.it seems more spaceous than our last 18 cu ft side by side

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ulysses great fridge, like everything about it!
Great fridge... I bought this to accommodate a smaller than normal refrigerator area in my kitchen. I love the finish, bright white and stylish metal handles, feels sturdy, gets super cold, makes very little noise (backed up to a plaster wall) the shelves are easy to move and offer a few configurations. I thought the wine rack was going to be useless since we don't really drink wine, but it does an equally good job of holding anything that is cylindrical. Love this fridge! I also think that the water droplets on the back wall are neat (autodefroster). This fridge is much taller than a normal fridge so if you use the top to store things, get a stool! Can't say enough good things... We are a three person family and we still manage to keep about 2 cubic feet free with a fully stocked fridge.

I got exactly what I expected in this purchase and I am very satisfied. The top door arrived scratched but summit sent me a new door. A little noisy when the compressor kicks on but it's hardly ever on .The only white refrigerator on the market with such awesome dimensions at an affordable price.

We are happy with the size, because we wanted a bottom freezer, and have small space. Other brands were too wide and deep. So far no complaints. Changing the way the door opens was a challenge for us..

This is European design at its best. Pricier than our old refrigerator, but worth it. The FFBF280W is a smooth-surfaced bright white fridge without ice-maker, and two pretty brushed steel handles. (You can also get one with an ice-maker and in stainless steel finish - they have fridges in a great variety of sizes for small/odd spaces.) We designed the space to fit the FFBF280W: 75 1/4 tall (!), 27 1/2 wide, and 24 in deep. Installed in our kitchen it is actually less than counter depth. At 13.8 cu.ft. it is smaller than the old 18 cu.ft. fridge - but you can see everything in it - no "science projects" lost at the back. There is plenty of room for three of us. It is Energy Star rated, with a compartmentalized bottom freezer (so all the cold doesn't fall out when you open the door - you select the door or drawer you want to open). The fridge has four door-storage shelves, two sliding plastic crispers, three adjustable glass shelves and an adjustable steel wine rack! So sophisticated. :) The doors come hinged on the right; but they are reversible, and a kit is included. The fridge is tall, slim, sleek, and shiny. It is GORGEOUS. Also - I have never owned a quieter refrigerator. One thing: this fridge has an Evaporator, and a normal part of the cooling operation involves water and/or ice droplets forming on the back wall. Don't panic when you see this (as I did). It's just the way this fridge works. Love this refrigerator! A+.
