Rated 1.8 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor design and quality I've had this unit for 15 months. As others have said it is noisy for two reasons. The compressor unit is noisy, but also the circulating fan turns on and off every ten seconds or so. When I got it I suspected this would be a problem. And sure enough, after a little over a year, the circulating fan has died and temperature control between chambers cannot be maintained. Engineers and technicians know that motors do not like to be constantly started and stopped like this unit does. It's not surprising that it failed. Poor engineering design to say the least. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wine cooler The wine cooler is noisy. The wine cooler looks great. It was easy to install. September 1, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by They do not stand behind their product We owned this wine cooler for about a year when the interior glass panel shattered. It was not even being used. In other words, it wasn't from slamming the door or something like that. I am sure it had to do with the temperature differential and is possibly poorly engineered. At any rate, I went back to Summit and they did not stand behind it. Very unimpressed. July 24, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It could have been better The compressor is very loud and can be heard over the other new appliances that make no noise in the kitchen. The key lock is not the highest quality and could easily be manipulated to open. Our original purchase of this product had a broken light. When contacting the manufacture, the Customer Service Representative said the bulb was on back order and would be several months before they could send us a replacement. They suggested that we return the appliance and purchase a new wine fridge for a speeder result. I didn't think this was a smart business decision from the company but did as advised so not to wait for the bulb replacement. June 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and Annoying Buyer Beware. Like you, I was drawn to the Summit by the features and price-point which is hundreds less than comparable units. It looks great but one big problem that Summit has acknowledged and can't fix. The unit has a fan, not to be confused with the compressor, that cycles on and off every 10 seconds to move cool air throughout the unit. Because of the built in design which vents through the front, the fan can be heard and is very annoying. If you will be locating it where sound is not a problem then you will be fine. If it will be located anywhere close to where you will be hanging out i.e.: Kitchen or dining room..DON"T BUY IT! October 22, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beware This product worked reasonably well for a year, but just out of warranty, it would intermittently shut off and stop cooling and would beep until we manually pressed the power button to shut it off. We called the manufacturer, and they said the problem was a faulty control board that was expensive and was not covered since the cooler was over a year old. For a product we paid $800 for, one would expect it to last well over a year! My wife continued to be persistent in talking with the manufacturer (stating that we are very good Home Depot customers and that if we did not get some satisfaction in this matter we would bring the matter to Home Depot management in hopes of having their product dropped from Home Depot's product line due to its very poor quality). Only then did they agree to send us a control board free of charge. However, with very poor documentation for the cooler, we might have to hire a repair person to install the board. Nonetheless, we were somewhat pleased that they were willing to do something. Now, it is almost three months since we were promised the part, and it still has not arrived. They tell us it is back-ordered. Either they do not supply replacement parts for their faulty products OR they are lying and breaking their promise to send the part. So three months after the product failed, we still have no resolution. Beware this product, and find another manufacturer! April 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not good shelves were terrible quality, returned it, return was smooth at HD January 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Really like the dual chamber We really like this wine fridge. We looked around a ton online before purchasing this one. Been using it about 4 months with no issues so far. Love the dual chamber. Would be nice if you could interchange the white and red zones though. It's preset for the larger chamber to hold red wines at the warmer temp. We drink more white than red in our house, but so far has not been a problem. Love that wine is at the ready when we are! We saw this model on several websites, but Home Depot had the best price. Shipped very quickly too. October 21, 2013
