Answer:
It's easy. There's an oversize collar to twist so you can extend it. The pole is not round, but more of an oval shape so it stays properly aligned from blade to motor.

Answer:
It's very easy to telescope. One big collar that is easy to turn counter-clockwise to loosen the grip
between poles, and clockwise to tighten at the desired length. The power cord is contained inside
the poles. The poles slide smoothly and are oval shaped so they don't twist and damage the cord
within.

Answer:
Hello Maddog,
Our SWJ800E Electric Pole Saw is very easy to telescope. To adjust the telescoping pole, simply rotate the collar counter-clockwise to loosen. Then, pull the poles away from each other to lengthen the pole, or push the poles towards each other to shorten. When you achieve the desired length, rotate the collar clockwise to secure.
That's it!
Hope this helps,

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 76 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Very Well - Easy to Use This product is easy to use and works as good as advertised. It's light weight makes the overhead work easy and the power of the motor and quality of the chain cut through even large branches with little effort. June 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good deal Saw was nicely balanced and easy to use. I have a bad arm now and yet I handled the saw quite well. Seems well made and cuts as advertised. I feel I got a good deal. June 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase for the Price A little heavy but cuts great, great reach, good produce for the price. June 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of time In an hour and a half I was able to cut 7 branches. The chain was hard to adjust when I assembled it and kept coming off when I used it. I have 3 other chain saws so it's not as if I don't know how to use them. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good value for the dollar After I assembled a cut a few palm fronts off of a queen palm 10' to 12' high it cut them well. Than I used to cut down a tree that was hanging over 6' high fence into my neighbors yard. June 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tree trimmer Used it twice on some Leyland Cypress branches high up ones just thin ones. The chain came off and would not go back on. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product at a low price Easy to assemble. Simple to use, highly useful telescoping handle, easy to loosen and tighten to adjust reach. Can cut through limb quickly. And quiet, since electric. Oil level clear, can use motor oil. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent in all aspects Did 3 hours of tree trimming & it performed well. Great power & easy to use. Saw other reviews where people said it was heavy. What did they expect with an electric saw on the end of a long pole. It is actually as light as it can be. Good quality product. May 24, 2016
